'The Forward Look'
.......
in miniature -- pg 3

The following models are 1/24th and 1/25th scale

XEL also re-issued JoHan's '56 DeSoto sedan -- but as a private car only.  I really like taxis, so a friend of mine did one up for me and even included an authentic advertising placard on the trunk lid.  This is one of my favorite taxi models.

Dodge had to do something to compete with Chevrolet's stylish Cameo Carrier, so in 1957 Sweptside Pickup emerged.  The rear fenders were lifted directly from the Dodge station wagon and this, combined with some fancy two-toning, produced one of the wildest pickups ever.  This beautiful replica is currently (as of Dec. 2000) available from the Danbury Mint in either the red and white as shown, or in green and white.

The following model is 1/18th scale
The Cloud White 1956 Chrysler 300B shown here is the first 1/18th scale diecast Forward Look car that has come out.  It is produced by  Maisto and very nicely detailed right down to the factory wire wheels and fully wired 354 Hemi under the hood, which opens.  A remarkable model in the $20 -- $25 price range.

The following models are 1/43rd scale
From the Brooklin Collection comes number 19 the '55 Chrysler C300 in Tango Red.  This model was released in 1984 when the Brooklin Models were a bit on the heavy handed side and proportions were less than true.  In 2000 this model was re-released and completely revised and is now a much better representation of the first Chrysler letter car.  I will soon have the new issue in Cloud White to go along with the original.
This West Point Gray '55 Imperial Newport is from USA Models, a division of Motor City of California.  Number 2 in the line, the detailing and proportions are outstanding, down to the authentic chrome wire wheels and air conditioning intakes.  Also done in several two-tone combinations, this model is now obsolete.
