The Department of Education Employment & Training (DEET) has placed a copy of the full report on their web site.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print it.  You can get Acrobat Reader from Adobe. The report is quite large (1.8 Mb) so may take a while to download.
Get the report from: http://www.deet.vic.gov.au/deet/media/reports/index.htm

You can also download the letter from Mary Delahunty (Education minister) to Barry Pullen (Review Panel Chair) responding to the report.  There is no need to do this however as you can read this letter here.

9-APR-01 LOCAL SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCES WAR!
Frances Laurino, principal of Collingwood College, in an article in the Melbourne Times (4/4/01), says re-opening Fitzroy High School would be “a poor use of public money”, and that “There needs to be wider consultation with the school community and other schools in the area before the decision is made to reopen Fitzroy Secondary College”.  Read a letter sent to the editor from an outraged parent,  Letter to the Editor.
If you are also outraged write your own letter to the Melbourne Times.
We have reason to believe the principals from other local secondary colleges are  agitating behind the scenes to prevent the school from re-opening, so keep tuned for more!

7-APR-01 MINISTER PUTS IT IN WRITING
The Minister for Education has written to Barry Pullen setting out her views and actions on re-opening Fitzroy High.  This letter is the OFFICIAL position, as we all know things said to the media are not always 100% accurate.
We have a copy of  the letter,  read it and find out what is really happening.

IN PRINCIPLE SUPPORT FROM THE MINISTER!
The Minister for Education, Mary Delahunty, has given 'in principle' support for re-opening Fitzroy High School.  Richard Wynne, the local member of parliament announced on the Open day at the school.
Information and pictures of the Open day..

Read the media reports: Herald Sun, ABC Radio, ABC TV, The Age.

WHERE TO NOW?
The next phase is to get the government to commit and make a definitive announcement that a school will be opened on the site.

YOU CAN HELP
Note that the government is saying a year 7 to 10 school opening in 2004.
If you want a year 7 to 12 school opening in 2002 put it in a letter and send it to Mary Delahunty.

We still need to show the government the community is behind a new school.
If you are a parent at a primary school seek out other parents at that school who want to become involved in helping and form a contact group.  Your group can then disseminate information to other parents, and be a conduit for the wishes, hopes and opinions of parents from your school.
If you don't know of anyone else at your school who may want to be involved send us an email noting your school and contact details.  We will do what we can to match people up.

1-APR-01 OPEN DAY A MARVELOUS SUCCESS
Over 200 people attended the Open day.  The North Fitzroy Choir entertained the crowd before speeches from Brian Sullivan, President of the School Council when Kennett shut the school, David Brant spoke on behalf of local parents, Barry Pullen spoke about the Review Panel's recommendations, and Richard Wynne stole the limelight by producing a letter from the minister announcing her "in principle" support.
