26-Mar-01 COME TO THE OPEN DAY
The open day at the school site, (corner of Michael and Falconer streets),
Sunday the 1st of April, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

We’ve lined up some speakers to give some background information, and the latest news.
Please come and show your support for the school, see the school for yourself, and hear what the latest news is.  Bring as many people as you can, (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, other people’s kids).

Please let us know if you can help, even if only a little bit.  We’ll need people to help set up from 9:30, and people to help clear up after 1:00, and people to man the sausage sizzle stall.  Email comment@fitzroyhigh.org.au  if you can help.

Some more pictures added, community action, inside the buildings.

Come back next week, we hope to have the full text of the Review Panel report.

A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE INTERESTED
A table was set up at the North Fitzroy Community Day at Edinburgh Gardens last Sunday.  There was enormous interest in re-opening the school, from ex-students, current high school students, parents of children from toddlers to late primary school, retired people interested in Adult education, local residents unhappy with the site being empty.

PETITION
A petition was started at the North Fitzroy Community Day at Edinburgh Gardens.  Over 100 signatures so far.  If you would like to sign the petition it will be at the Big Duck and Fish company shop counter (161 St. Georges road, opposite Edinburgh Gardens) until the Open day.

OPEN DAY
The open day at the school site, (corner of Michael and Falconer streets), is on Sunday the 1st of April, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
We’ve lined up some speakers to give some background information, and the latest news.  Mary Delahunty has been invited, but we are yet to receive a response.
Please come and show your support for the school, see the school for yourself, and hear what the latest news is.  Bring as many people as you can, (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, other peoples kids).
Please let us know if you can help, even if only a little bit.  We’ll need people to help set up from 9:30, and people to help clear up after 1:00, and people to man the sausage sizzle stall.  Email mail or phone us if you can help.

WORKING BEE
Some of us will be on the Falconer street side of the school on Sunday 25th March (next Sunday) at 11:00 to clean the area up.  It just needs the sticks and leaves swept out of the way and maybe a little pruning.  Come along and give a hand if you can.  Bring a rake ,broom, or wheel barrow.

PRIMARY SCHOOL NOTICES
We are having trouble convincing some primary schools in the area to distribute notices to parents about Fitzroy High School.  If you are a parent at a primary school and have NOT received any notices, or seen anything in the school newsletter, please speak to the Principal about it.  Just say you are interested in what is happening and think it would be a good idea if parents were kept informed by the school.  If you want notices to distribute contact us and we will provide them.
We also have some downloadable leaflets.  Download them and spread them about!

16-Mar-01 Media reports added to web site.

We are having a working bee to clean the Falconer Street frontage for the Open day.
Please come and help from 11:00 to 1:00 (if it takes that long).
