Rules, they define and dictate all fine governmental bodies, without rules, chaos and anarchy would reign supreme. In the spirit of this The Allied Simulation Association, has set forth a governing body of rules. These rules serve 2 main purposes, first, to protect the members of the ASA from abuse or harassment. Second, to keep games fair and governed under a law unbiased to all players, and deal punishment accordingly. These rules and laws are here to protect all members of the ASA regardless of rank or position.
The Allied Simulation Association’s Code of Conduct
Very straightforward, these are the rules that will govern the ASA and all of its sims. These rules will apply to all members regardless of rank, and following this code of conduct will guarantee that your CO or GM will appreciate your presence in her or his game.
Thou Wilt Not Threaten Another Player
Real Life threats of any sort, public or private, against another ASA member that are bought to the attention of the ASA are actionable offenses and proper punishments will be taken depending on the severity of the threat. These will not be tolerated by any means.
Thou Wilt Not Degrade The ASA in Anyway Publicly
Any Problem you have with the ASA will not be bought up in game. Contact Your GM or superior and speak your peace, but do not injure the game because of a problem with the ASA. Any Public complaints such as that which was mentioned will be punishable with immediate ejection from the sim and possibly other repercussions on future ASA games you wish to join. Additionally, when on your ASA screen name, or acting on behalf of the ASA, you represent the ASA and poor behavior will reflect on the ASA. Appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken.
Thou Wilt Not Harass Another Player
Do not Email or contact other people in game to bother them. If you are looking for a friendly chat or whatever, then that is fine, but if the person complains to a GM or superior, action will be taken. First starting with a warning. Then moving upwards in severity.
Thou Wilt Not Use Excessive Profanity
Occasional cursing, or rude and obnoxious comments are part of life, but excessive amounts of this are not in the spirit of gaming in the ASA. THERE IS EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE IN SOME SIMS. But most fantasy or Sci-fi sims have no need for excessive cursing and it should be used sparingly. Excessive cursing will be punished first with warnings, then temporary game suspensions. Please watch your language, remember, younger children may be involved with our sims, as young as 11 even.
Thou Wilt Not Go Out of Thine Way To Irritate The GM
Being a GM is truly a stressful and tedious job. To make life easy, don’t go randomly contacting the GM for useless things. Yes, talk to them if you’d like, but remember, they volunteer their own time to make the games function, without them, none of the games you play would function. Punishment ranges from warnings to suspensions for this particular offense.
Thou Wilt Not Attempt To Destroy a Sims Story Line
When we say this, we mean merely, do not go off on a self-righteous tangent and give yourself an outcome that you want your character to have. Don’t solve the crime, or the mission. If you know what’s going on or whatever, please, let the GM handle the results of your actions, do not type your post about how you killed the bad guy and the like, unless the GM approves it first. It take’s a great deal of time to form a good story; it doesn’t need to end in a blink because you want your character to have the glory.
Additionally, do not attempt to drag the game away from the plot line the GM is developing, unless the GM grants permission.
Thou Wilt Not Discriminate When Acting On Behalf of the ASA
The ASA loves all its members. It is the diversity of our members that makes the ASA such a fabulous and unique group. You are entitled to your opinions and beliefs regarding people, but the ASA is a place to which we all come to have fun and feel safe. Therefore, discriminatory behavior – whether it is silent or vocal, quiet or harassing – will not be tolerated and will be met with severe disciplinary action. THIS CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH. Profanity, quibbles with GMs, and poor behavior can be forgiven, but discrimination CANNOT and WILLNOT be forgiven readily. Protected groups include: any religious/spiritual belief, sex, gender, gender identification, disability, race, sexual orientation/preference, level of education, ethnicity, or country of origin. This is not a complete list, only one to give you an idea.
Thou Wilt use Wilt When Making Cheap Biblical References In All Guides And The Like
As I was just informed not too long ago, the bible was translated into improper English, so to avoid any grammatical errors, when using The Standard “Thou Shalt . . .” you will use wilt in place of shalt to create a proper tense and person. (Wilt is the second and third person form to shalt.).
