Coat Colors

Pure White. Recessive trait, DGW is genetically black, grey, red, etc., but white 'covers' it up. More of a coat pattern, than a true color.

Saddleback. Black tipped guard hairs are restricted to saddle area, head, haunches and shoulders. May be white or red. Black and grey dogs with the same type of saddling are not generally included under this category.

Sable. Reddish or brownish with a black nose.

Agouti. Banded coat, very wild looking, cream instead of white undercoat.

Light Red and White. From pale yellow to a light orange cast with white under belly.

Red and White. Dark Red or Brown with white under belly.

Silver and White. Undercoat is white as opposed to cream/beige.

Wolf Grey. Grey with distinct orange or reddish cast behind ears and above hocks.

Grey. Grey with beige or yellow undercoat.

Black and White. Can range from dark black to light black.

Mostly Black. More than 75% is black.

Coat Markings

Piebald. More than 50% white with irregular areas of any other color.

Splash Coat. Includes a saddle, secondary color[s] may be any color.

Collar. White/Cream/Yellow/etc band around neck.

Eye Colors

Blue eyes. Can range from white blue to dark blue.

Brown eyes. Can range from yellow amber to dark brown.

Bi-colored eyes. One eye is brown other is blue.

Parti eyes. One or both eyes sport two colors.

Face Markings

DGWs have very similar face markings to huskies. They can have blazes, bars, masks, bald faces, under eye markings, etc. This more commonly happens with the 'color and white' combinations, however it's known to be in the other colors as well.

Hair Colors

Hair colors range wildly. They can be any color of the rainbow, either natural looking or crazy fun colors. They can have any sort of patterns, spots, stripes, unrecognizible splotches, the works. You can find really crazy hair styles.
