In the modern world of science, myths and legends are disregarded or forgotten. The creation of pokémon, the origin of humans, the truth about the bond between the two . . . these mysteries are seldom explored by the secular society that humans live in. Perhaps it is in the unexplored societies that the answers lie: the societies of the pokémon.
Kit Tanguy has always felt in touch with pokémon, but it is only when she encounters the legendary pokémon Ho-Oh that she finds the pokémon within her being brought to life. She is plunged into the world of the pokémon, she is forced to learn the ways of the pokémon, she becomes one with the pokémon. But before she can even begin to adjust to this world, she is drawn into an unravelling plot . . . a criminal organisation known as Team Magma, the wild vulpix pack's legend of human creation, the mythical battle between the sun and the moon . . . Unable to be sure about what's legend and what's reality, she feels the only one she can trust is herself . . . but she's not quite sure who that is anymore . . .

20 June 2009 - Today, The Vulpix Club turns 10! Come and visit to check out some of the cool features I've put up for the group's anniversary. Joining the group is easy - you just need to sign up for a Yahoo! ID, which is totally free. Of course, if you're here, you're probably most interested in Pilot Light, and don't worry - the story has been included in the celebrations too! I have released TWO chapters as part of the anniversary fun: Chapter Forty: The Lab and Chapter Forty-One: Taking sides. I hope you enjoy them!
8 March 2009 - Chapter Thirty-Nine: Returning to the Pack is now online.
30 January 2009 - Chapter Thirty-Eight: Showing Myself to You is now online. Ack, it's almost a year since the story returned from hiatus, but this is only the seventh chapter released since then. Don't worry, PL will be finished someday, no matter how many years it takes!
30 November 2008 - Chapter Thirty-Seven: Evidence is now online. Yay, the story now has 37 chapters released! As you may know, 37 is Vulpix's number in the National Pokédex, so that's pretty cool. I also did a quick picture of Kit (in vulpix form), which you can find in the Images section. The picture was inspired by the song "Gravity" from the anime series Wolf's Rain.
13 October 2008 - Chapter Thirty-Six: Twilight is now online. I'm sort of aiming to have no more gaps that are greater than three months. Let's hope I can keep that up (hopefully the gaps will be even smaller!).
14 July 2008 - Chapter Thirty-Five: Sunset is now online. Another long wait, I know, but at least it wasn't two and a half years again!
2 April 2008 - Chapter Thirty-Four: Flames of Hope is now online. In not-so-related news, a friend of mine has recently opened up a web site for his own fanfic, Journey to Destiny. His story also features Vulpix and Ninetales (and even Ho-Oh, too!), so PL readers may be interested in it. It was written a few years ago and is a complete 90-chapter story, so if you're looking for something to read in between updates to Pilot Light, I'd definitely recommend it! 2 March 2008 - Chapter Thirty-Three: The Rainbow Wing is now online. There are no major updates to the site, but at least the story has been updated, that's the main thing!
17 February 2008 - After a hiatus of almost two and a half years, the site - and, most importantly, the story - have been updated. Chapter Thirty-Two: Doomed Travellers is now online. You may like to get yourself reaquainted with the story by reading over the chapter summaries on the site.
There are also new pictures of Kit and Taylor up in the new images section. I hope to make updated pictures of most of the characters, to reflect my current drawing style.
When going through my old PL pictures, I realised there was a wallpaper I never ended up releasing, so I've added that to the site as well - you can see that on the old images page (the one at the bottom, with Kit sitting on a tree stump). There was also another old wallpaper that I haven't added, because it features characters who haven't appeared yet. So you can look forward to that after a few more chapters. =)
