The Barry Biography |

Barry Leakie is a politician by profession, and an ordinary one at that. Like many politicians he only exists to keep the air on either side of him from banging together. Born in the thirties, he entered Federal Parliament in a forgettable by-election back in the fifties. So non-memorable was his political presence he attended party meetings for all the major parties for thirty years and no one ever twigged that he wasn't, in fact, a member of any political party what so ever. (For example, he was able to get into Country Party meetings because he could "Baa!" so convincingly.) Thus it was that Barry served without distinction on the back bench of all the major political parties. Barry was there in the party rooms, and now in his retirement he's got the goods on all the current crop of pollies and intends to use it to maintain the lifestyle he's grown so fond of. |
