Most of my designs are from Classic Traveller, and many of my early works did not have the benefit of computerized spreadsheet construction, so there may be some errors in them. My designs of the last few years have mostly used the marvelous High Guard Shipyard software by Andrew Moffat-Vallance

All the starport defence sites are designed as buffered planetoids with as much additional armor as possible allowing for tech level and required components. Each site has a power plant capable of supplying all components in the site. Each site contains an appropriately sized bridge. The crew will normally be limited to the gunners required for the weaponry, though some sites may have a limited command section and a minimal engineering section. There will seldom be anyone from flight or service sections, or troops specifically assigned. There will almost never be a frozen watch. Small craft staterooms are normally provided for situations where alerts last more than 12 hours. Often a starport defence grid include a large number of sites with Model/1 computers as backups, and a small number of sites with the maximum computer available at the tech level to act as central control sites that those with Model/1 computers connect to.
The standard starport defence sites listed below have the following naming convention. SDS indicates it is a starport defence site. The following number indicates the tech level of the site. The characters following the tech level define the size, armament, and computer the site has. The first character is either "T" for 100 ton turret armed, "B" for 1000 ton bay armed, or "M" for major weapon armed. The second character is the type of armament. The third character is the computer model.
The following list shows the armament types (the second character):
SDS-7TA2 class Starport Defence Site TL7, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-8TA2 class Starport Defence Site TL8, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-9TA3 class Starport Defence Site TL9, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-10TA4 class Starport Defence Site TL10, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-11TA5 class Starport Defence Site TL11, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-12TA6 class Starport Defence Site TL12, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-13TA7 class Starport Defence Site TL13, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-14TA8 class Starport Defence Site TL14, 100 tons, HG2
SDS-15TA9 class Starport Defence Site TL15, 100 tons, HG2
