This 176-page trade paperback reprints X-Men #1-7 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee! Highly recommended! Jim Lee's run was one of the highlights of the X-Books. If you haven't seen these issues, don't even think twice about forking out the $17,95, because they're worth every penny.
WOLVERINE/GAMBIT: VICTIMS TPB
. THE SCOOP: The team behind Daredevil: Yellow (collected this month as a hardcover) brings you a murder mystery starring the ragin' Cajun and the clawed Canuck! . THE STORY: When five women are found slashed to death in London, Wolverine is eyed as the prime suspect! Using all his skill and cunning, Gambit begins an investigation that will set X-Man against X-Man! Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale keep the twists coming in this mind-bending collection that reprints Wolverine/Gambit: Victims #1-4. . THE FORMAT: 96-page trade paperback. Again, this comes recommended. Because Wolverine has to be the alpha-male and the hero of any arc in which he appears, Gambit does not look quite as good as him. Nonetheless, it's an excellent story with good characterisation.

Bouncing from Australia to Madripoor to parts unknown, the X-Treme team fights to contain and repulse a deadly invasion led by Shaitan, and championed by his boss, the mysterious Khan! And how does the timing of the invasion from Dimension X coincide with Cassandra Nova's trip to the Shi'ar Empire in New X-Men? They better hope the Dark One is still in the Bore at this rate. ;)

All we can say is that Sabretooth from the Age of Apocalypse is back with a new team! Is this the "new" Exiles - or something worse?! Find out what's going on in what Wizard magazine calls one of Marvel's hottest new books! . THE FORMAT: 32 pages, with ads. New team = ratings and sales falling. They're trying to piggyback this off the Age of Apocalypse's popularity, but they've got a concept which is essentially Quantum Leap meets Dr Who. I don't see how they can successfully marry the two, and I think the constant changes confirm that.

Then rebel forces murder your teacher, kidnap you along with the rest of the children in your class, and force you to take up weapons to fight for their cause. You have no choice but to do as they say, because you're powerless... right? *blinks* Marvel seems to have a bit of an obsession with rebels and terrorists at the moment, between the Shining Path and the Ugandan Terrorists. I do think they're squandering this idea, though.

They might have been "critically acclaimed" on WILDcats, but they certainly aren't "critically acclaimed" on Uncanny. I pity the publicity writer who has to try and sell these!

You may have heard the name before, but nothing can prepare you for X-Factor! . THE FORMAT: The debut issue of this monthly, 4-issue mini-series is 32 pages, with ads. A preview that manages to say nothing about the book. Amazing. X-Factor is such an abused title.

Get your Kleenex ready, folks, it's a countdown to catastrophe as the X-Force - or at least one of 'em - races toward an oblivion that's been foretold in the stars. Whose swan song will X-Force soon be singing: The Orphan's? U-Go Girl's? The Anarchist's? Doop's? "Probably the most experimental and bold Marvel Universe comic ever published." - Joel Meadows, Tripwire Another death? Tssh.

The X-Men face a new mutant! Peer pressure has never been so dangerous as when Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Spyke, Rogue, Storm and Wolverine meet the Mimic! Devin Grayson is one of the industry's best writers. This would be worth buying on the strength of her name alone. And, if they can get Kia Asamiya to do covers and write for them, why can't they get Asamiya-sama to do the mangaverse comics? :\

Not only is Emma Frost kickin' tail in New X-Men, but she's also stepping out in X-Men Unlimited! Plus: a solo story starring Jubilee (currently a member of the X-Corps in the pages of Uncanny X-Men) by UDON and a Sunfire adventure by Steven Grant and Trevor Von Eden! (Mighty Marvel Memo: Issue #35, solicited in last month's catalog, will actually be issue #34.) The cover is by a packet of noodles? ;)

Still available! The X-Treme X-Men hit the land that time forgot in an effort to save Rogue from her haywire powers! This 96-page trade paperback reprints the four-part adventure adventure by Chris Claremont and Kevin Sharpe! By all accounts, not terribly good.
