Part of the reason for their speedy reconcilation was the fact that Gambit's feelings for Rogue remained unaltered. He still loved her, yet, at the same time, refused to allow her inability to remain in a stable relationship with him to get him down. (He certainly did not allow it to prevent him from seeing other women!) When Dirge of the Lost Souls tried to use his guilt and shame about his past deeds to defeat him, Gambit said as much:

GAMBIT: As for you, Rogue, I play fast and loose with many things, but never wit' votre coeur. Your heart. Your heart, it means more to me than my own. You choose not to see dat. It's your loss.

Fortunately, however, she did choose to see the depth of his feelings for her a few issues later . . .

Matt Murdock Statement: The Gambit Guild is not an official fansite, and, as such, is not endorsed by Marvel. Nonetheless, we do acknowledge our debt to them for creating such a wonderful character and would not dream of making any profit from him other than the enrichment of our imaginations.
