2-28-02 Posted the first known review of the TAM Arm Light Advance.
The excellent review and pictures were submitted by a reader (great work xcandescent!).

Also, Richard(nightc1) has asked me to announce that a lot of people who were posting to the IGN light project post(on the now "insider only" IGN GBA board) are now trying to re-group in the GBA forum at gaminguru.com. This link will bring you directly to the forum :)

2-27-02 The Cyclops walkthrough is FINALLY up!

2-26-02 The "Viper" walkthrough is up! The Cyclops walkthrough should be online in about a week. I've been extremely busy lately.

Also added are some pictures of the energizer lantern disassembled
submitted by Xcandescent!

2-24-02 Pictures and info on the predecessor to "Cyclops" have been added!
Click here to see the Viper!

I will be posting a walkthrough this week sometime. Also, the "Cyclops" walkthrough will be posted very soon as well. I'm sorry for the delay, but I've been very busy lately. I feel that it will be best to put up the viper walkthrough first since it was the first mod I did with the "world's brightest" LED, and since it is also the simpler of the two modifications.

2-23-02 "World's Brightest LED" flashlights are finally for sale!!
I'll be adding a link to the index on the left side of the site soon, but for now,
please click here to get to the ordering page.

2-22-02 Great News! I have the LED flashlights in hand!! I will be setting up the ordering page this weekend so keep checking back :)

2-21-02 Wow, IGN just closed their bulletin boards to anyone who does not subscribe to their pay service :( Pretty bold move.

Anyway, I've just been contacted by "mod_man" about moving the gba frontlight thread to gbalight.com's bulletin board for the time being. Go ahead guys, no problem at all! :) Be warned though, the ezboard popups are really annoying. Anyone who plans to frequent the board should download a pop-up killer such as webwasher. It's free for home users BTW.

Still waiting on the light shipment. They should be here any day!

2-20-02 Just an update to say that the lights should be arriving any day now! At latest I'd say early next week, but most likely the end of this week.

Also, some good news for anyone out of the country or in Hawaii or Alaska: Most likely you guys won't have to pay extra shipping :) I took a sample to the P.O. the other day to have it weighed and get a few out of country estimates, and everything looks good so far. There may be an exception here or there, but most likely the $8 price will cover shipping for almost anyone :)

2-18-02 Just a quick note about the LED lights: they were going into production last thursday, and the factory said that it usually takes 7 days. Add to that about 3 days to ship them to me, and you end up with sunday(the 24th). So it's possible that I'd have the lights up for sale as early as next monday (a week from today) :)

Of course if anything changes (or I get them before then), I will post to the site. In the meantime I've been experimenting with "cyclop's" circuit still trying to optimize the battery life.

2-16-02 Posted a page with submitted pics of a photonlight keychain disassembled. Click here to reveal the mystery :)

I've also added a contributors page today. Anyone who donates (however large or small), will have their name listed on this new page should they choose to be recognized publically for their generous contribution to gbalight.com.

2-15-02 Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a project that will allow people to use these LED flashlights that I plan to sell as the sole basis of the light.

There will be a few parts involved as part of the structure/support, but I can almost guarantee that everyone will have these items already in their home :) There will also be 2 electronic parts that will need to be bought -or- could easily be "scavenged" from other junk electronic items you may have lying around.

The key idea I have in mind is to make this mod as easy as possible for anyone to accomplish with no "rare" or "hard to find" parts. The electronic parts will just be a switch and resistor.

2-14-02 Wondering about the "donate" button that's been added to the site?
Click here to read all about it!

Due to the positive response that the Cyclops mod has received, I may soon be having a drawing where the winner would receive a Cyclops for FREE! :)
Keep watching the site for details!

2-13-02 I plan to place the order for the LED lights today :) I'll post updates regarding the status of the order as the info becomes available.

Also, I'm continuing to optimize the circuit of Cyclops. I'm trying to reach the best compromise between longer battery life and overall brightness. I want to find the ultimate cofiguration before I post the walkthrough.

2-11-02 "World's brightest LED" flashlight info page has been updated!
I'm going to go ahead and place an order for these lights, Please see the updated page for full details. Thanks for the interest everyone :)

2-10-02 The Castlevania screenshots are FINALLY up! I also took some of the shots in conditions other than in a pitch black room. Be sure to check them out :)

On a side note: after 144 hours of CONSTANT ON operation, I'm declaring the original set of batteries that the test LED was running on as dead :) Here's the final picture.

2-8-02 Ok guys, here we go, I'm going to post a picture of the LED flashlights that I would be able to offer for sale if enough people were interested. Maybe the picture will get more people to take the poll. Follow this link to a picture and description, then please take the poll. I'd like to get at least a hundred or so votes in the poll before I decide if this deal could become a reality or not.

2-8-02 The first internal pictures of "Cyclops"!

2-7-02 I will be posting more pictures of "Cyclops" soon. The next set will
include internal/during mod views, and possibly some castlevania screenshots :)

2-6-02 11:33pm See Cyclops now!!!

2-6-02 Project "C" is COMPLETE! Preliminary pics coming soon!
Check my post in the bulletin board for more details.

2-6-02 Ok, I think I have the hosting problem dealt with (for now anyway).

Don't forget to take the poll, and be watching this evening or tomorrow
for project "C"

2-6-02 This is getting ridiculous, now the mirror of my site at prohosting is
down :( So for now it's going to be back on geocities until I figure out what to do.

2-6-02 Get ready for project "C". The new mod pics and results should be posted late today(wednesday), or tomorrow sometime :)

2-5-02 Hi everyone, Thanks to those of you who have participated in the poll so far!

I'm on the verge of a new mod that may very well conquer the LS mod! To keep tabs on my progress, just keep an eye on the bulletin board. Rather than do updates to the site every step of the way, I'll just post progress updates/failures there.

2-5-02 Now 44 hours and the LED still shines on the same set of batteries! Here's the 33 hour picture that was previously posted. Make sure you see the Progress page and take the poll if you would be interested in one of these lights.

Also, check out the bulletin board for more info and my future plans for this LED.

2-4-02 Sorry to anyone who received the "over bandwidth" error when trying to view the site recently. I've switched servers, so things should be normal again.
By the way, if anyone finds any pictures missing or anything else missing, please mail me so that I can address the issue.

2-4-02 New testing is complete! Click here to see the story! Be sure to see the info/revelation page that's linked to at the end of the article!

2-3-02 I know most people don't read the bulletin board on this site, but everyone should check out the topics I've been posting in the "News" forum lately(about a new LED). A full report with pictures is coming soon (most likely tonight).
