Geeta's Poems
Private Demons - II
How many times have I told you
not to come and visit me?
But all in vain...
You come at will
- deliberately?
- to cause me pain.
Even though you try not to be found
I see you always around
lying in wait
with your tempting bait
of imaginative monopoly.
Trembling shadows, lonely corners,
fragments heard from hurried whispers.
Nerveless fingers,
tuneless days and locked up dreams
and fruitless searching-afters.
Small white hands to draw out
guileless expressions
from behind the bars
of impotence.
Would that you bury yourself
and no longer come to visit me?
... In every meeting, you don’t realise
the violent thoughts
that hit me.
