The Biography

To use catchy phrases, corny clichés and comparisons to describe twenty year old Seattle born and bred artist Lauren McCormick, would do her a great disservice. How then do you describe the girl voted “Most Clumsy” by her fellow high school band mates? Those who know her simply describe her as Lauren! While most aspiring female artist her age dream of being the next multiplatinum, well choreographed, uber coifed, blonde bombshell, Lauren just wants to be..... multiplatinum. For Lauren, the world is a stage. Entertaining and creativity for her, are synonymous with breathing. From acting to composing, she does it all. At eighteen, Lauren realized that music was her passion. In early 2000, she formed a duo with a longtime friend. Despite the groups promise, after a year of writing, recording, arranging, vocal and dance lessons and most of all, compromising, the two split. Down but definitely not out, Lauren went back to work. Double timing it, writing, arranging, and this time producing. This time it was all Lauren, this time it was all good! Behind the bright blue kewpie doll eyes set in a smiling rosy cheeked baby dolls face, lurks the soul of someone wise beyond her years. Perhaps the wisdom, insight and emotion that she writes with is a result of dealing with the loss of her father at the age of twelve. Maybe it comes from being shuffled around between her parents and all of the their new families, prior to her fathers death. Maybe it is from something as simple as being teased all through childhood for being at least at good three inches taller than even the boys. Whatever it is, it makes her a powerful writer. Thoughtful, Colorful, Insightful! Her style? As eclectic as she! Influenced by many different artist, genres and eras, but never feeling that she was more one thing than another, she decided to do it all and make it hers. It’s not processed or overly contrived, it’s real. It’s simply Lauren!
