Kibble and Nibble

Kibble and Nibble are a father son pair. Kibble is probably one of my favorites of the whole clan (with the possible exception of Tinothy). He's the first Gerbil to catch my heart, to let me hold him and pet him, and he's got one of the sweetest personalities there is.
Kibble is a spotted lilac. He's also the patriarch of the gemstar clan. He made a really good daddy. Gerbil moms aren't always the most maternal, and Tina was a little flighty, although all things considered she was a pretty good mom. All of the spotted pups he and Tina had were pied like Mario and Nibble. Nibble is a pied black. And he's absolutely beautiful. He was born in the first litter that Tina and Kibble had, and I fell in love with him almost immediately. I'd never seen such a beautifully marked pied except in pictures. I definitely wasn't expecting to get one in my first litter ever! My husband likes the doves and lilacs because he says that soft gray is really pretty. Personally, I like Nibble's color the best. Kibble and Nibble both like to be held and played with. They aren't quite so skittish as some of my other gerbs. And they are adorable to watch. They are also two of my largest gerbils. They aren't fat . . . just pretty big for a gerbil. Kibble has a habit of standing on the side of the water bottle holder and chewing the metal that holds the bottle. Not the bottle, just the metal. I'm not sure why, but he looks really funny standing on that holder! Kibble and Nibble are also both jumpers, which means I have to be extra careful not to leave their cage top off! One day I wasa holding Kibble, and next thing I know Nibble is perched on the top side of the cage looking at me as if to say, "So when's my turn???" |

I had tried to take some pics with me holding the boys. but they didn't come out very well. :( I'll have to try again another time. |
