Timothy and Abby were seperated after the second litter. Only three survived that litter. I'm not certain if it was something in the genetics of the pairing, or perhaps the litter, since I'm almost certain they died of repiratory infections. Either way I seperated them and Timothy is now with his DEH son Tanner. When I do get pictures of them together I put them up.
Timothy is a Light Dark-Eyed Honey. He has two recessives that modify his coat color, as well as being spotted to boot. He isn't a pup from either of my two previous breeding pairs. I got him from another girl. He is really a sweet boy who absolutely loves to be handled. Abby is the third Apricot/RESN. She has a much better temperament than her brothers. She's much calmer and she also like to be handled. I would guess that the only "bad" habit either of them have is that they are very compulsive about digging in the corners. Of course, they are gerbils, so what does one expect? :) Abby was one of the gerbs that died in January of 2002. I will not forget her. The pups from their first litter are coming up on two weeks old now, and starting to wander the cage. It looks like the two pups are both males, one of them is definitely a DEH like his dad. The other I am uncertain of. Because the other three colors Abby and Tim can produce are all colors that don't settle until after their molt at 8 weeks . . . I'll have to wait and see. But, I do know he's spotted. |

Unfortunately, the little one didn't make it to four weeks. :( So only one from the first litter survived. But he's doing quite well now, and the second litter of five looks much better, and quite healthy. It's funny to watch him with his younger siblings. He's such a sweet big brother. |
