Rev. Moon Speaks on the "Theory of Evolution"

The Theory of Evolution was popularized by Charles Darwin, in his book, The Origin of Species, published in 1859. Today, many hold to the view that man and all other beings emerged from a common “low-life” through many millions of years of gradual evolution by natural selection.

The following are several statements by Rev. Moon regarding Darwin’s theory:
The ancestors of human beings are not monkeys. Some scholars say it’s the monkey. Ask the scholar: ‘“Sir, who is your grandfather? Is he a monkey?’ Then you must be the descendant of a monkey.” Will he like that? No. It will turn him off.

The nature of energy is that the entering energy is greater that the exiting energy. When a monkey engages in motion, how could it become something greater? Can something greater come about by itself? No way! For it to become greater, more energy must be invested in it. This is the only way it can become a higher functional being.

The seed of monkey is not the same as the seed of humans. Humans have been worshipping God ever since they were created. There were no tribes that were not worshipping God. Do monkeys discuss whether God exist or not?

Who sets the direction for evolution? Why is it moving toward a higher level? Can it go downwards and sideways? The universe must have some central will that gives direction to everything. The subject of that will is God. It is God who decided how man and woman should be.

Evolution is merely a viewpoint based on the result (of what God did). Man, who is a purposeful being, was bound from the beginning to be created. With that in mind, God created everything from the lowest to the highest through a principled procedure.

Divine Principle and Conventional Christian Doctrine

(Final in a five part series)

The Second Coming
There are several views which outline the conventional Christian position on the Second Coming: Christ returns in the hearts of believers, the poor, the down-trodden and the disenfranchised. Also, Christ comes to us when we first repent of our sins and receive him. Some, primarily liberal Christians, believe that his principles will gradually permeate the world at large. Still, others say, he will descend from the sky with the trump of angels to judge the world. When will Christ return? This also runs the gamut on viewpoints, such as: A-millennialism, Pre-millennialism, Post-millennialism, and Prederist (already came).

God’s revelation of the Divine Principle to Rev. Moon, informs us that, “the return of Christ will take place in a manner similar to Elijah returning as John the Baptist.” (Mal.4:5; Mt.11:14). In other words, the Lord of the Second Coming will be born on earth (Rev.12:5; 19:11-15), and Jesus (who ascended to heaven), will return in spirit to work in oneness with him (2:26-28; 3:12,21). The spirit and mission (of Christ) are the same, but the personalities are different.

Jesus has been working from the spirit world (with the help of the Holy Spirit) ever since he ascended. He has appeared in spirit to his disciples and many believers throughout the two millennia of Christianity. And, he

Hebraism and Hellenism

‘Closing Remarks’ by Rev. Chung Hwan Kwak, Chairman, Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP), at Assembly 2000 (gathering of world leaders). An edited version.

Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen: Thank you all for being here. As we enter the 21st century and new millennium, we need to set the tone for the coming era.

Rev. Dr. Moon, in his 10,000 speeches, over six decades, has always stressed the harmony of man’s mind and body; in so doing, we are able to reflect God’s nature.

The unity of mind and body, husband and wife, and parents and children are the essential building blocks for peace in the family, nation and

Divine Principle
