My name is
Geovani
Vogarin Solano,
and
I am a
bi-lingual naturalist guide with 11 years of experience in leading groups
through tropical forests. I am familiar with the birds and
animals which are indigenous to Costa Rica, and I have a strong
background in the history and details of Arenál Volcano.
I
began my career working at the Arenál Observatory Lodge. I
was trained by vulcanologists, and I have always been intrigued by the
changing nature of the mountain. At the tender age of 6, I witnessed the historic
eruption in 1968 of Arenál Volcano. I was living only
a few kilometers from the mountain at that time.
During the last
decade, I have provided lava samples to the Smithsonian
Institute for research purposes. I am also a member of
the AGUFO which is an association of Costa Rican tour guides.
Given my history and personal experience with Arenál, I am very
aware of its awesome power as well as the nature
of forest denizens. Therefore, I make every effort to respect recognized
safety limits throughout all of my tours.
Family is a high
priority with me as well. I realize that many families
cannot afford to pay additional fees to include children on
tours, so I make special arrangements in these cases. My goal is to provide interesting, memorable, and safe
experiences for all of my guests.
