I would like to stress that I am in no way supporting any particular Clubs or players by having their website listed below. Nor am I biased when awarding ratings for the websites. Website ratings are based purely on design, accuracy and ease of navigation. (And being interesting too of course!!). Also, all websites are unofficial sites, (unless said otherwise). The Ratings...
Soccer-Stars - soccer-stars.org This is a top class website. There are polls on what players you would like to see profiled, wallpaper for downloading pictures of players, reviews of hundreds of players, latest transfers of players, and even the opportunity to view top players by country or club. The poll allows a vote on players for 'best of all time', 'best keeper', etc, etc. Best "football player" website I have seen on the internet. Rating The Premiership Football Website - www.pedwards.co.uk If you are just interested in information on the English Premiership, then website is a must. There is basically everything you'd find in your "Soccernet.com" type website, (except the articles), but the website has a personal touch to it, and I found it a refreshing change. The website is updated after every Premiership Football match so i'd recommend getting the latest results from this website, before eating the curry and watching MOTD, after your Saturday night out!! Rating Coventry FC - www.skyblueconnections.co.uk A good website that covers the Coventry team, ground and development. Also included is info on the reserve squad. The design of the website is top class and also changes throughout the website. The website is worth a look on design alone, and this combined with the in-depth information makes the website worth viewing. Rating Independent Manchester United Supporters Website - www.imusa.org A well balanced website that provides information on the Premiership, Man Utd, the IMUSA itself, and provides a lot of feedback from supporters. The website is one that promotes supporters of all clubs and this is seen in the links page, by linking to other clubs supporters websites. Rating Wimbledon FC - www.oocities.org/nicyg/ A great website with a honest / personal approach from the author. Good to see another 'geocities' website with footie info!! I have asked the author if he is interested in contributing to the 'Offside' column, so we may see more of him on the GFL website. Rating Simons Fantasy Football League - www.oocities.org/sffl2001 A fantasy league that is awards players for choosing top performing players in their squad. You select players from throughout the English Premiership, and are awarded points, (or lose points), depending on how they perform from week to week. A simple, yet effective, format for running a fantasy league. I welcome more fantasy leagues of this kind to the GFL links webpage. Rating Huddersfield Town FC - www.htfc-world.com A light hearted look at Huddersfield Town through the cartoons of the websites author. The website covers most matches, and has a cartoon for highlights, (or lowlights), throughout the season. A different view of Football...and a refreshing one too. Rating Fussballsuche - www.fussballsuche.de A searchable directory of soccer related sites in German and English. Emphisis is placed on the German phrases and descriptions throughout this website, but this is a great website if you are after a quick website address, email address, or location of a ground. Rating Sunderland FC / Northeast Sports - www.wkyo.freeserve.co.uk A website that embraces life in the Northeast of England as much as SAFC. This is an interesting website, and I was surprised by variety of subjects within the site, (including a visit to Tibet!!). Worth a look. Rating EFMS Fantasy League - www.oocities.org/stevebest_2000 A fantasy league that is based on real life conditions and problems. Unlike the GFL this league is a Football simulation. I welcome more fantasy leagues of this kind to the GFL links webpage. Rating Sunderland FC - www.safc-uk.co.uk An good website. There is info on matches, players, and the history of the club. The format of the website is a refreshing change, as the navigation has been well thought out. I would recommend a visit as the website has a lot of potential. Rating Big Al's Sport 'SPL' - www.gosports.to/fitbacrazy A website that focuses on the Scottish Premiership. There is a great links area and the website is growing rapidly, (recently went on line). Worth a look during the Football Season. Rating Philippo and Simone Inzaghi - www.angelfire.com/co/vip/index.html A website dedicated to the Inzaghi brothers. The site contains links to other Football websites, photo's of the brothers, and and even background of each of the brothers. There is basically one website for each brother, so there is pretty of info. Rating Wellington FA - www.soccer.org.nz Up-to-date tables and results for Football in the Wellington region, (New Zealand). The websites pleasant layout lead me to surfing for a while, but due to the specialist nature of the website, (ie. NZ footie), some people may be put-off. I would recommend a look. Rating Blackpool Football Club - www.seasiders.net This website has more to it than it first appears. There is history of the club, the current squad, and even updates on the new 16,000 seater state-of-the art stadium on Bloomfield Road. Rating Sunderland FC - www.safc-magic.co.uk An interesting website. The dark background does'nt usually suit websites, (in my opinion), but it has worked well here. It's currently the off season, and the website is a bit thin on material. I would recommend a visit during the 2000/01 season, as the website has a lot of potential. Rating Euro 2000 - http://go.to/bartm A good website that really needs to specialise in one particular area to stand out. The website contains team information, ground in formation, and some history on previous tournaments. There is also a voting area on the winner of Euro 2000. Rating Portuguese Football - www.oocities.org/Colosseum/Sideline/1497 An up-to-date website for those wanting the latest information in the world of Portuguese Football. The website links to more interesting, or relevant, articles. This website provides a fast way of catching up on articles, league tables, and even photos. Rating
