WHAT WE DID!

SATURDAY

Photo to come

Saturday morning everyone was up around 7:00am. We assembled in the Meeting Room and had breakfast. We then made our key chains and watched the rest of the George Carlin eps.

After that we headed out to Four Mile Historic Park, which was quite fascinating. Four Mile was once a stage coach stop and holds the oldest log home in CO. The front part of the home was actually a small store and saloon. You do NOT want to know what they made *Whiskey* out of back then!! LOL

Women did not go into that part of the home, so there was a parlor in the back where women could get together and knit, read, or just talk. Upstairs was a large room where people passing through could get some sleep. Very primitive. The mattress was ropes that ran across and up and down, almost like a hammock. According to our guide. most people back then only bathed twice a year!!! Yuck! LOL We then took a ride on the stage coach they have there!! Very bumpy ride, but it was smoother the faster they went.

From there we headed to take our bus tour, but when we arrived there was no sign of the bus, so we decided to just go do the things on the tour ourselves. Which was fine since I hadn't paid anything in advance. It worked out better because the bus tour only had two stops and as it turned out, one of them was not accessible.

We stopped at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and it was closed off because they are redoing the seats and such. The other stop on the tour was Buffalo Bills grave, which was very cool. It was also very windy up there and we saw a heard of Elk.

The stop that we added that the tour didn't have was the Coors Brewery tour. Everyone enjoyed that, especially the free beer at the end!! LOL We had lunch at a really great restaurant in Golden Colorado. From there we headed downtown for Dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

On the way back to the hotel we stopped to pick up the Birthday cake for Shelly and Kit. It was very good and we enjoyed it as we watched M7 eps. I believe we went until about 2:30am that night. The problem was that the person in the room above my room would literally stomp around at around 5:00am every morning, so True and I were not getting much sleep.
