Thunder Over the Reefs by Paula Minton 1967. So in this book Aukele (Hawaiian name) or Audrey (English name). Her dad is white and her mom is Hawaiian. They both die, she gets shipped to San Francisco to live with nasty relatives. Tragedy strikes. Tragedy Strikes. Her relatives are mean. Then a hot Hawaiian man stalks her. Turns out he is an old friend of the family. They fall in love, he calls her Aukele. My favorite quote is about Aukele's cousin from S.F. Grover, and the hussy he was dating who eventually killed them both by grabbing the wheel. Never grab the wheel! "Jessica, swept away by her desire to trap him into marriage, yielded her virginity to him in a motel, and Grover swore undying pledges of eventual marriage, tempering these, however, with the admonition that they would both have to wait until after his graduation the following year." Bad Grover, such a whore!

The Lost Moon Flower by Bethany Campbell 1989. I don't know where to start with this one, it was soooo bad. First of all, let's examine the cover. Notice the hunk of man carrying her, well that never happened. She was tough enough to carry her own ass up the mountain. Second, notice the panda in the left corner? Yes, this story is about the rescue of a Panda. And of course she needs the man's help. Men never ask women for help. Only the weak little woman needs the big strong tan man's help. So, the lost Moon Flower is the panda. It was abducted, from Chicago and taken to a remote island off of Hawaii. I thought this was the perfect book to read in Hawaii. In one scene they are heavily making out, on the verge of doing it, in a fresh water pond. Well, according to my Hawaii guide book, fresh water pools may contain the bacteria leptospirosis, which can get into your system by drinking or getting into orifices. So, they are pretty much licking bacteria infected water off each other, and oh yeah the bacteria comes from farm run off and is from animal pee. Yummy. Best quote "I think you just need to be held, Josie. You don't really want to make love. Maybe you're not woman enough."

The Sea Master by Sally Wentworth 1982. In this novel Michelle runs away from her groping fiance and ends up falling in the Thames, miraculously she makes it onto a boat and ends up on her way to the Caribbean. So the guy makes her work, she's a brat, so much in fact the the guy feels he needs to spank her. "She knew what was going to happen and gave a cry of protest which quickly changed to one of rage as he brought his hand down on her behind. He went on, holding her down as she struggled convulsively, yelling with anger and rage." So, he spanks her because she's a bad girl, but he wants to do her because she's a sexy woman, hmmm. After the spanking she goes to her room and has an internal monologue about how much she hates hime, yet she wants to do him too, hmmmmm. Food for thought.

Foul Play by Elaine K. Stirling 1986. This book while not exactly interesting, has a very entertaining cover. Just look at her in her cute cat costume. And the man in his hairy costume, note the gorilla head in the bottom right corner. Thats pretty cool. So in this book Carina is framed by her best friend for killing someone, what a great best friend. And the studly counter part is Damien a famous actor. She works in a playhouse.

Dangerous Assignment by Jennifer Blair 1975. Nora is a reporter who works with her ex and is trying to get away so she takes an assignment in the amazon. This book is tricky, you don't find out who the love interest/evil villian is until the end. Someone's killin people and smuggling something.

Ruins and Romance By Rebecca Ashley n.d. The book takes place around 18teens, Jane Austen times, so much in fact her name is Elinor Wentworth. For those non-Jane Austen fans, Elinor is the main character in Sense and Sensibility and Wentworth is the main character from Persuasion. Elinor is smart. She is at a party in the English countryside at a fancy house where they are digging up old ruins. And she meets a guy.

Thai Silk by Anne Weale 1990. This book takes place in Thailand and it talks about interesting places to visit. It also talks about lending libraries that are like video stores where you pay to rent a book. These are the type of libraries that American libraries were founded on. You had to pay to rent books before they had public libraries.
