Dear Reader,
The following is a list of the months invented long ago by Caladarian.
In this current year, the Year of Storms, it is prophesied that great
storms will ravage the land. The Codex of Years, written by a long lost
civilization, determined that each year is symbolic of a major event.
Events could range from tragic to joyous. For example, in the year following
720 CT (Year of Storms) is 721 CT (Year of Growth). This could signify
the yielding of good crops and wellness to all that live on the world.
The Caladarian year is 360 days in length with each month consisting
of 30 days. These days are determined by the full and new moons. Each
month begins and ends on the full moon and the middle of the month occurs
when the moon is new. Each month consists of 3 weeks that are 10 days
in length. In the middle of the year at the end of Mence and the beginning
of Glis, the sun and moon line up exactly centered and this is during
the celebration called the Celebration of Balance with each day dedicated
to Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. Other days are important days such
as Husband's day or Wive's day. There are also holidays centered around
the growing season such as the Growing and Reaping Festivals.
