Dear Reader,
Throughout the chronology below, the letters "CT" appear
frequently. To clarify this, the letters stand for Caladarian Time.
This standard of keeping track of historical time was invented by the
ancient chronicler Caladarian. Many of his ancient recordings have been
lost, however, the following is a small portion of records that I've
been able to recover during my many years of research thus far. This
research is a continuous process and much will added as I uncover more
secrets from the ancients.

- 400,000 to - 200,000 CT: Age before recorded time, an obscure
period of uncertainty for the world and its inhabitants. The landscape
was quite different with sporadic volcanic activity and glacial runoff.
It is rumored that during this time the land was ruled by the great
dragons (Wyrms), an intelligent race of dragons that far exceed the
present-day race of dragons in size, strength, and intellect. Despite
their superiority however, they mysteriously vanished from the world
without a trace. Contrary to this, there are rumors in the scholarly
circles of the greatest of sages having evidence that these great beasts
still exist.
- 189,500 CT: An ancient race of humans roam the land. Very
different indeed from the current stock of men. These ancients had the
unique ability to use their great minds to control the forces of nature.
Unopposed and blessed with this power over nature, they built lavish
cities and formed the land to their will.
- 167,000 CT: A sinister race from another plane arrives on
Torin and, after bloody war, lay waste to all that once was of the ancient
human achievements. Scholars believe that they were drawn by the pulse
of power being wielded by the ancient humans. Others believe it was
a curse for the human's disregard for the beauty of nature and their
selfish ways of twisting it to their will.
- 166,300 CT: The ancients are lost from the world. The vicious
new rulers of the land feed on the ancient humans like cattle by drawing
the energy they wield. Years of torture and suffering go by unchecked
and uncounted. The ancients are eventually driven to extinction.
- 162,500 CT: Prophesying a future world-killing event, the
new race burrow deep beneath the earth to survive. Some scholars say
that the cataclysm was the result of a turbulent change in balance of
power on the land. Others believe that an ancient deity, in a final
effort, wanted to cleanse the world of these new vicious power harvesters.
After leaving the light of the world, they never returned to the surface.
- 161,672 CT: Angered by the foul deeds of the ancients, the
ancient deities form a great stone and hurl it from the sky onto Torin,
killing all life on the surface of the world. Floods engulf the land.
Mountains rise where seas once stood. The skies grow dark as they fill
with debris. The world is engulfed in darkness. The land is changed.
- 160,730 CT: From the darkness, a seed appears.
- 150,000 CT: Ogres and Giants arrive to roam the land of Gishham,
part of what is now Golandor. The Ogres lived in the fertile plains
in what is now The Sea of Horindal. The Giants lived in what is now
The Crag of Magus and Blacktooth Mountains which were then only hills.
- 130,136 CT: The Ogres find the enchanted Gem of Maghost, sent
by Mulg (Ancient God of War Magic), which gives them great magical powers.
- 130,100 CT: Entranced by the Gem of Maghost, the Ogres wage
a war on the giants driven by greed, wealth, and power. The Ogres rally
to exterminate the Giants from Gishham.
- 130,049 CT: The Shatterland War Begins. The lands from what
is now the Vast Forest to the Forminal Mountains were battered and smashed.
The ruins of ancient Giant cities are said to still exist on the frozen
plains south of the Vast Forest. This is only speculation as many who
travel through the Vast Forest never return.
- 130,044 CT: The Ogres lay siege to the giant city of Fromanith.
- 130,043 CT: Starving, defeated, and defenseless against the
magic of the Ogres, the Giants surrender at Fromanith.
- 130,042 CT: A Giant named Aryon is born, and he is prophesied
to defeat the Ogres and become ruler of the Giants.
- 130,010 CT: Aryon becomes leader of the Branham Brigade, a
special force of giants used to infiltrate deep into the Ogre Lands.
- 120,990 CT: The Branham Brigade takes the Ogre citadel capital
of Ulthvim and declares that giants are the supreme rulers of Gishham.
They banish the Ogres to the deepest of forests, never to return, again
to the lands of the giants.
- 120,465 CT: The first Elves arrive on Gishham from an unknown
origin. Some circles say that the elves are a race of "wayward
travelers" driven off course while roaming the heavens. Others
speculate that they are from this world in the form of "animated
nature". "The Earth Alive" theory has been a topic of
discussion through many scholarly circles. It is said when an elf dies,
a tree is born. The tie between trees and elves is obvious, however
goes unexplained even to the elves.
- 120,464 CT: The first Elven House of Thorinil is founded by
Berunil, first father of the Elves.
- 120,450 CT: The Ogres discover the arrival of the Elves and
befriend them. They are welcome throughout the deep forests of Gishham.
- 119,730 CT: King Berunil destroys the Gem of Maghost scattering
its remains to the far reaches of the world. The Ogres, without the
magic of the Gem, lose their grace and wither into monstrosities of
their true evil. The evil that we see today in the Ogre race.
- 28,556 CT: The first primitive humans arrive in Gishham. Mostly
hunting/gathering cave-dwellers without knowledge of animal husbandry
or agriculture.
680 CT: The town of Foggyton is founded.
690 CT: King Sennegar II dies. His daughter, Her Majesty Ellewin
Gwenevar Aragonos, takes the throne of Golandor.
