Skyline: Party balloons float up from behind the skyscrapers.

Plot: It's Frasier's 43rd birthday, and while giving Roz a lift to her date, he is stopped by an attractive policewoman for speeding. She lets him off because of who he is - and because of his birthday - and Frasier is attracted to her. He thinks she feels the same way about him.

Frasier persuades Martin to use his police connections top find out who the policewoman is, and eventually they find out her name - Maureen Cutler - and that she will be at McGinty's that night. Frasier asks Martin to accompany him to McGinty's so that it doesn't look like he is coming on to Maureen - plus, Frasier would stick out like a sore thumb!

While Frasier goes to the bar, Martin tells her how wonderful his son is. They chat for a while and then Maureen's pager goes off. She tells Martin she'd like to see him again and gives him her number. Trouble is, Martin likes her too. But how would Frasier react to his father dating the woman he wanted??? Martin goes to Niles for help…..

Meanwhile Frasier is frustrated - he hasn't had sex for 9 months (it was with Edna from accounting) and Maureen hasn't got back in touch with him. And the surprise birthday party at KACL doesn't help much either.

Subtitles: Sins Of The Father; Does This Mean You Won't Do My Taxes, Edna?

Roz loves….. the date who Frasier was giving Roz a lift to. They were late, he was speeding, and they were stopped by Maureen Cutler.

Martin knows….. Charlie, who identifies Maureen Cutler.

Trivia: This is the only episode written by Sy Rosen. This episode was made quite early on in the season, but for some reason was held back until now. This may explain the apparant goof in Frasier's age - here, he turns 43 in 1996, but earlier (and later) episodes suggest he was born in 1952, meaning this should be his 44th birthday. Oh well, that's TV for you. :-) First appearance of Maureen. Second appearance of KACL's busybody, Elizabeth. We also meet two of Daphne's friends, Charlotte and Maggie. Sitting behind Frasier, Martin and Maureen at Cafe Nervosa as extras are the mothers of Jane Leeves and Peri Gilpin and the father of David Hyde Pierce!!!
