Skyline: An aeroplane files overhead with a KACL banner.Plot: Whilst buying a DVD player at a store, Frasier spots a woman, Claire, that he likes. It turns out that Claire is a friend of Lana Lynley (formerly Lorna), the prom queen who Frasier dated a year ago. Frasier and Claire get talking whilst Lana returns something to the store and Claire reveals tomorrow is Lana's birthday. Would it be possible for Frasier to get Lana to her surprise party? On the way to the party, Lana reveals her ex-husband Bob is getting remarried to his secretary Kathy on Lana's birthday, and she's depressed. The party cheers her up, and afterwards she and Frasier make a deal - she'll get Claire to date him if he'll tutor her son Kirby in history. Frasier agrees. Kirby however doesn't want to study, so Frasier makes a deal with him - if Kirby studies, Frasier will get Roz to go on a date with him. But Roz only agrees so long as Frasier gets her tickets to a concert she wants to go to. Cue a confrontation at the restaurant which Frasier and Claire go to that evening, which Kirby, his friends and Roz also visit, as Lana arrives and all the deals are revealed..... Meanwhile everyone else struggles with the DVD player, but when it doesn't work they tell each other some dark secrets. They're all pretty lame, except for Roz's. We don't hear what it was, but Martin does and he's horrified. Niles and Daphne are also experiencing problems in bed - in her sleep, Daphne accidentally keeps pushing and hitting Niles that he keeps falling out of bed!!! Subtitles: (Semi-Decent Proposal): What Women May Or May Not Want; Tuesdays With Frasier; (A Passing Fancy): A Waist Is A Terrible Thing To Mind. Roz loves..... Kirby, Lana's son, whom she dates in return for Frasier getting her tickets. Her "dark secret" which she whispers to Martin may also be about her shenanigans with a man. Martin knows..... Roger, a guy at the park whose dog Macduff is having a birthday party. Martin and Eddie haven't been invited, but as it turns out their invite was lost in the post. Trivia: Reappearances of Lana (formerly Lorna). Her name was changed because Lorna was originally named after a real person who decided she didn't want her name to be used any more. First appearance of Kirby as well. This episode was originally going to be two episodes, but at the last minute it was decided to merge them into one - hence the two titles, two writers and two directors. Mention of Hester Crane by the way, and Lana refers back to when she and Frasier dated in Ep 156 "Big Crane On Campus". |
