Besides the usual things that most people get out of it, we find that if we assign individual
"birthdays" to everyone inside based on their personality, we can learn a lot about each other
and about our group as a whole.
I'm going to see what else people say here.
Thanks,
Allegra :-)

[...] Astrology is a subject that's been misrepresented by the mass media ever since daily
horoscopes were first printed in the early 20th century. The watered-down "Sun sign"
horoscopes we see in most newspapers are only one broad facet of what is actually a very
detailed art and science.
You know about the three astrologers mentioned in CR writings. Many centuries ago, the
practice of astrology was reserved for the wealthy and the elite, and doctors were often also
astrologers. The movement of the stars and planets was considered to reflect activity on
earth, and since planetary movement is predictable, people learned to use this information to
guide them in daily life. An accurate astrological reading included (and still includes)
tracking the movement of the Sun *and* all planets in the solar system. So the "Sun sign," as
we mentioned, is only one factor in many.
Up until the time daily horoscopes became popular, people identified with their "Moon sign"
rather than their Sun sign. This was because changes in the moon are said to be tied in with
our emotional and inner life. So in the old days, we of MD would have been known as a
Sagittarius rather than a Capricorn. But because Moon interpretations are so much more complex
than with the Sun, daily horoscopes would have to be a lot longer, and that's not
cost-efficient for the newspapers. That's why Sun sign horoscopes came to be used more
frequently.
Anyway, that's just the tip of the iceberg. :-) We could talk about this at much length. If
[...] anyone [...] wants to talk about it further with us, just let us know.
Thanks,
Allegra and Mary
