Web
Advertising and Promotion Ideas
Some companies put a “virtual brochure” online and call it a Web site, but consumers want more. The estate more information you include on your site, the better. For example, real estate agents can post cost-of-living and lifestyle data for their area and add a link to the local visitors’ bureau. In order to visit your Web site, people have to know about it. We register your Web site with the most popular Internet seach engines world-wide! Registering with search engines is just a start. You can request links from relevant directories and related (but non-competing) sites. Post messages on the miscellaneous business-marketing newsgroup site, www.zcu.cz/services/news2www/groups/misc.busness, for example. Respond to questions via return e-mail, using your signature as a sales tool. Sponsor a monthly quiz and give a prize to the first person who submits the correct answers. Post up-to-the-minute information about your business or industry. Put your URL on everything from business cards and address labels to proposals and promo items. If a client sends someone your way, offer both the current and the potential client a one-time discount or a promotional item. Ask site visitors to place their e-mail addresses on your mailing list and use the list to send product updates, news releases, and special offers. Host an interactive seminar. If you sell herbs and food supplements, your topic might be “the natural way to healthy skin,” for example. Promote the event through traditional and online media. We sell and lease online mailing lists with very cost-effective pricing. You should develop an e-zine tailored to your audience and distribute it at least monthly using one of our many e-mail lists. It’s important to be consistent, so if you’re short on time, investigate the cost of hiring a PR firm or freelancer to do it for you. Make it easy for journalists to write about you and your site. Include bios and downloadable photos of the principals, company history and background, news releases and supporting information, articles about the company, links to related (but non-competing) sites for further research, an e-mail link, and phone numbers of employees to call during business hours for additional information. Make it easy for people to do business with you. Prices forms, product descriptions, delivery information, FAQs should be easy to find and use. A natural for many online vendors (through often overlooked) is a simple way to buy and send gift certificates. |
