The man moves steadily towards your position until a more cautious member of your group calls out a challenge to him. He stops in his tracks, about 30 feet from the group. He is rather slender, bordering on sickly looking, and has rapidly receeding grey hair. His clothes are bland and rumpled, but appear clean. A thin smile comes over his face when he hears your group speak. He responds in English, burdened with a heavy Polish accent. "Joe Campbell at your service! I couldn't help but notice the uniforms and all. Did the U.S. finally win the day?"
If the group confirms that they are Americans (or at least mostly American, depending on the group), he will then proposition the group. "Would you perhaps mind indulging me with a little chat? And someplace a little less conspicuous," he adds, pointing his finger around the area. "The walls have ears and all that."
If the group denies being Americans, Campbell will look a little puzzled at the uniforms, then shrug his shoulders and bid, "Good day, then!" He'll move off down a side road, and disappear around a building about a block down. If the characters follow him closely, they will find that he is VERY adept as losing tails. If they follow from a distance, they will find that they lose track of him only a block away. It seems like he just disappeared into an alley. The group should then go to the Decline section of this page.
