The Haunreiter family can trace its origins to the village of Haunreit along the Inn river in Bavaria.    Haunreit is located amongst the rolling foot hills of the alps.  Across the river to the east lies Austria.    Haunreit is mentioned in historical texts as far back as the twelfth century, and until the early 1900s, all Haunreiters resided there.  In the early 1900s Germany was going through economic hardship.  The Haunreiter family at this point began to split up, one or two branches stayed in the area, one went to Austria, and another went to the United States.
The following links to web pages have been translated into both English and German in an effort to share the information that I have obtained in my research on the Haunreiter family.  My goal is to recreate the Haunreiter family tree and all its branches back to the earliest recorded history of Haunreit.   Please feel free to copy and share the information, all that I ask in return is that you share with me your family lineage.  You can contact me by e-mail .  There are genealogical forms in both German and English. Thank you.
