Submitted Article 9 : Mr Colenzo
Thank you for the person who posted his name on the message board as I had problems remembering it, and this was one of the events that had to be told, those of you who went to QE Boys school in the mid-90's will no doubt remember Mr Colenzo...
We were doing the GCSE course and had a new Physics teacher - Mr Colenzo. New teachers were rarely of a very good standard - we were told this was due to a lack of applications (incidentally, Ms Catlow was actually the only applicant for the A level Chemistry teacher position - and she refused to disclose her A level/degree grades to us as she said they were so poor), but in this teacher was diabolical - and after a few weeks of his teaching, we realised he wasn't going to get any better so, of course, as any lovely class does, the living p*** was taken - we all wanted to do well and this man was obviously going to be of no use to us as a teacher.
It was getting towards the end of the first term and the teacher was showing signs of strain - all of his other classes had the same approach to his lessons as we did, however he eventually flipped - one lesson we came into the class room after lunchtime (it was alleged that someone saw him go into the pub at lunch) and during the lesson the Mr Colenzo proceeded to get up on his desk in front of the class and start dancing and singing with a plastic bag on his head - drunk? Probably. Pushed to the limit? Definitely! Needless to say we got what we wanted and he was 'expelled' by QE Boys School at the end of the term - our lessons were taught by one of the then current teachers instead and that was the last we saw of him...
