Gong With the Wind!

July thru September

Summer Seminars are completed for 2009.

No seminars are scheduled at this time. Winter seminars will be posted at the beginning of winter. Please check back.

FIRST SEMINAR

PRICE $15. Pay in advance or on site
WHEN Saturday July 11th. 10am till 11am
WHERE Webster Park on 4th and Eunice, behind Swain's
CONTENT Monkey Qigong: Of the five animal forms, the Monkey form is done in the summer time to release excess Qi in the heart meridian. It is a fun (and a little silly) form to rid us of ego, release stress, and calm the heart. This is especially important during the summer season when the environment turns more Yang than Yin. This extra Yang energy can build up in the body and do damage if not released.

SECOND SEMINAR

PRICE $15. Pay in advance or on site
WHEN Saturday July 25th. 10am till 11am
WHERE Webster Park on 4th and Eunice, behind Swain's
CONTENT Eight Pieces of Brocade: These Qigong techniques where developed over a thousand years ago by Marshal Yue Fei to improve the health of his soldiers. There are 2 sets. One is done sitting for healing and maintaining health, and a standing set done to improve health and strength. A person can feel significant improvement in health doing these techniques in only about 15 minutes per day.

THIRD SEMINAR

PRICE $15. Pay in advance or on site
WHEN Saturday August 8th. 10am till 11am
WHERE Webster Park on 4th and Eunice, behind Swain's
CONTENT Nine Temple Exercises: This Qigong set was made popular by Marshall Ho’o, whose teachers were Wen Shan Huang, Sifu Howard Lee, Lo Sai Loan, Lo Sing, and Mary Chow. The Nine Temple Exercises can be done as a warm up for Taijiquan, or as a stand alone set by doing each move 10 to 30 times. Consciousness sets us free, but separates us from nature. Qigong helps us integrate this dichotomy into an integrated whole that the Chinese refer to as the Tao. Regular practice stimulates all systems; the vascular, muscular, lymphatic, nervous, breathing, and Qi which is why it is considered one of the finest exercises for human health and well being.

FORTH SEMINAR

PRICE $15. Pay in advance or on site
WHEN Saturday August 22nd. 10am till 11am
WHERE Webster Park on 4th and Eunice, behind Swain's
CONTENT Four Seasons Qigong: As the environment changes from season to season, our bodies also change from yin to yang and back and forth. We are a part of nature, and can stay in tune with nature by changing breathing and exercise techniques to harmonize with the changing tides of the seasons. This class explains the interrelationship between the four seasons and your health and spirit. We will do exercises and cover concepts that are helpful to apply during the changes of nature throughout the year.

FIFTH SEMINAR

PRICE $15. Pay in advance or on site
WHEN Saturday September 12th. 10am till 11am
WHERE Webster Park on 4th and Eunice, behind Swain's
CONTENT White Crane Qigong: This soft-style Qigong set is the heart of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) exercises and many Qigong and Martial Arts styles including Taijiquan. We will do complete body breathing throughout the Triple Burner and Vertebra. "Most people breathe through their nose, but 'real' people breathe through their feet." It is also said, “Training fist without training Gong, when old, all emptiness.”
