All students go through basic training for your particular program: Meditation and basic postures for Qigong students; Meditation, stances, blocks, punches, kicks, etc. for the Taijiquan, Martial Arts students. Basic training averages about 2 months for most students but can vary considerably, longer or shorter, depending on you. Then you move on to more intermediate training. All classes incorporate the classical "place of enlightenment" attitude of this ancient, healthy, ethical, and peaceful art.

I began martial arts training in 1973. I've studied with different excellent instructors from several different styles (Karate, Aikido, Judo, Taijiquan (Tai Chi), White Crane, Taekwondo, Kempo, Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai) that allowed me the opportunity to learn the foundations inherent in all styles so they are not in conflict but naturally flow as one.

In 1993 I began my own school. "Shadow Dragon Martial Arts" is designed from hard and soft styles, but is mainly composed of the soft style, Taijiquan. I teach the philosophy that martial arts is for self-defense and to mantain health and longevity with a peaceful mind. I'm a Certified Martial Arts Instructor and Sports Medical Technologist. I also have a Masters Degree in Psychology and I'm a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
