1. Marmaduke was able to deduce what the animal was from Alan Quartermaine's statement alone.

Apprehended
1.The burgler left no clues inside the house.
2.The incident took place in the middle of winter.
Bad Impression
1. He deliberately sprayed water over the paintings. This Damaged them.
2.He was not unstable, deranged or malevolent. He acted out of good intentions.
Benjamin Franklin
1.Benjamin Franklin deliberately spelled Philadelphia wrongly as part of his job. He was not involved in teaching.
2.He was trying to make things more difficult for the people who made his job difficult.
Bluebeards Treasure
1. The map did not sho the exact location of the treasure and the enemy would be able to reach the island and exactive spot.
2.Bluebeard buried treasure in a way which he believed optimized his chances of recovering it.
Buttons
1. This is not a fashion issue. It has to do with right- and left- handedness.
2. When buttons first came into use, it was better-off who used them.
The Cabbie's Revenge
1. The cabbie did not insult the american. He did not make any personal or nationalistic comment.
2. The cabbie gave the American a piece of factual information which the American did not want to here. (I can't tell you exactly what the cabbie said because it might ruin an evening for you too!)
3. The location to which the American was drivin by the cabbie was important.
Cat Food
He wanted the cat to do something for him.
The Champions Blind Spot
1.The winner had perfect eyesight and could see as well as any other person there, but nonetheless they could see something he could not see.
2.He could not see something relative to him that others could see relative to them.
3.If the winner had lost a game, then he could not make this claim.
