What's wrong with this picture? DeltaPine, the USDA and Monsanto have teamed up to bring the newest science fiction horror story to our fields and gardens. Using our tax dollars, they have researched a seed type dubbed The Terminator by the RAFI-USA (Rural Advancement Foundation International). Seeds with terminator gene have the ability to poison their own offspring, and that of neighboring fields as well. Targeted for Third World Countries, with the intent to keep those farmers constantly buying seed from the companies that produce the terminator gene seed. Tasha Tudor, one of the 'gurus' I've always admired. Her own website isn't really about gardening, however. Tovah Martin produces stunning coffeetable works of art about Tasha's own cottage gardens. I could have put her in the Kitchen, or even Goats, since she still keeps her own dairy herd. She is a marvelous source of inspiration to us all. You may not realize you know her, but she's the illustrator of The Secret Garden, that cherished children's book we grew up with. She leads an incredible lifestyle that we all could learn from.
