Lived in Ober Albis in 1709, On Sep 27 1717, warranted land in present
Lancaster City, Naturalized 14 Oct 1729.

27 Sep 1717, a warrant was issued to Michael Shank and Henry Pare
(Bear) for
424 acres in the now south central section of Lancaster city. Henry
Pare died
before partition could be made. He had sold his share to Michael
Shank on 12
Dec 1729 for L170. Henry's inventory appraised 11 Mar 1730/1731,
included the
amount of L134 for the right of survey to 200 acres of land. The
inventory
names him Henry Bear of Earltown. Henry moved between 1717 and 1729
from the
mouth of Mill Creek to the head waters of Mill Creek.

Henry Pare (Bear) son, John Henry Bear, appears on the Conestoga Tax
list of
1721. Another son, Jacob, aquired land in Earl Township in 1721.

John Henry Bear naturalized and given citizenship rights on 14 Oct
1729. He was
issued a warrant on 20 Feb 1734/1735 for 53 acres next to his other
land on
Peter's Road at Mill Creek. He died intestate in 1738 and a warrant
was issued
22 Jan 1745/1746 to Martin Bear, son of Henry, assigning 53 acres to
him for
L8.4.3. A survey for adjoining 150 acres was returned on 22 Jan
1745/1746,
assigned by John Frederickfulls to Martin Bear. The 150 acre tract
was in Black
Walnut Bottom, surveyed on 20 Aug 1717 to John Frederickfulls, then
of Oley and
was the first land surveyed in Earl Township. It adjoined 400 acres
of Anthony
Pretter formerly of New Jersey, who was issued the first warrant in
Earl
Township on 16 Nov 1716. Pretters portion of Black Walnut Bottom was
surveyed
on 22 Aug 1717.

per acre, in 1833. In 1862, Joel Bair bought it for $11741.83. Joel
passed 60
acres including the house to his son Jason, who sold it in 1918 to
Jonathan
Lantz for $13,235.75.
