At the November dinner meeting a cheque for $2000 was presented to Rosemary Sinclair and Barbara Wellesley from the Good Beginnings Parenting Program. Some of these funds were raised thanks to the efforts of the Harley Davidson riders at the October Festival. The picture below is the cheque being presented the dinner meeting.
In June 2000 the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award was presented to incoming President Ken Nimmo. Ken has served the club tirelessly over a 20 year period. He has served in many club positions and as Trustee for the Lions Children's Mobility Foundation.

Supporting the Clean Up Australia Campaign. Each Year members co-ordinate the cleaning of local parks. Also we use a barge to help clean the foreshores of Oatley, thank to the support of oyster farmer Len Drake. Oatley Lions co-ordinated a site, in which over 50 local residents participated.
