I have just refinished an old dresser. Inside on the back was the name Gustav Rubbert. I was told by my mother that this dresser had been built by my Great Grandfather Gustav. I believe I have a picture portrait of him and I have additional pictures going back to the 1920s of this side of my family. I know I have pictures of Grandma Tillie and Aunt Gustie as well as others. I know my cousin Caroline called me several years ago about a family tree but being in Montana at the time, I was somewhat disjoined from the family world. We have recently returned to Wisconsin and now reside in New Lisbon. Funny...but since refinishing that dresser, I've been strangely driven to find out more about my ancestry. I have been focusing on the Zilske name for some time now but tonight...for no reason I decided to try Rubbert. Low and behold there was the name Ca ol Peterson. I believe this is the cousin I know as Caroline Zilske. Father/Carl, Mother/Elinore, Brothers/Jerry and Tommy(I believe), and sister/Mary. Visits were always fun times for me but I always had a hard time saying good-bye...still do. If I'm on he right track, write back!
