On Eagles Wings

Oh, Lord, I want to soar above with eagles wings, fly high above this earth. The cares of the world can be so discouraging, yet you, Lord, have given us your love - a love that can take us far above any problems, strifes, or disagreements - a love so real, so pure, so true, that it can transcend any hatred that is here below.

Oh, Lord, I want to soar above with eagles wings, floating on your love. Knowing that nothing here on earth can harm me, because You are my protecter, You are my shield, You are my defender.

Oh, Lord, when I am hurting, when I see all the sadness in the world, take me far above, just You and I, let us soar together into eternity with eagles wings - how can anything be better than that?

I love You so much and I know that soaring above with eagles wings is possible as long as I keep my eyes and heart on You, then I won't see things here below, because Your love is so bright, I won't see the darkness.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for what You have done for me - me, an undeserving sinner - imagine!! I love You so!!

I found myself in tears this morning, not because I was sad, but because I am in such awe of our wonderful God.
I was getting together the canned goods for my donation to the food pantry. Our WDW group is donating one pound of canned goods for each pound lost during this session (the first session at our church). I still have a week to go and God has taken 23 pounds off me. When I went to pick up the box of cans, I was so surprised at how heavy it was. I started crying because I was overwhelmed at how good God is to me. I didn't do anything but obey His will in regards to His plans in regards to eating.
These canned goods, I realized, would be used to answer the prayers of God's children in need. So, God is not only good to me, but through me, as I in turn react to His goodness. I guess you know what I'm trying to say. God is so awesome!
Our WDW group will be taking over a hundred pounds of food, to symbolize our weight loss. The "poundage" will be a gift offering back to God. We will leave it there, never to return to our hips again.
