Sand...Sand...Sand...

I had a dream last night that I wanted to share with ya'll...

I was walking along in the desert sand (I truly felt like one of the Israelites)...when suddenly there was an earthquake! Everything shook and I lost my balance and found myself sinking. I thought..."Oh, I'LL still be able to climb out - it's only up to my waist."

But suddenly the earth cracked again and I saw a HUGE "wall of sand" about to completely cover and envelope me!!! In my alarm I said to myself "I'm going to DIE!!! I won't be able to breathe! I'm going to be BURIED!!!"

And as I saw it coming down over me I woke up.

I cried, "Lord! what does this mean?"

I found myself in Philippians and He gently lead me to the answer...

Phil. 1:29 - "For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to SUFFER for His sake"...

Uh-oh, I'm not really suffering, am I Lord?

vs.8 - "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming OBEDIENT TO THE POINT OF DEATH, even death on a cross..." vs. 13 "...for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Do ALL things without grumbling or disputing..."

Oh...yeah...I HAVE been grumbling a little, haven't I? Remember DIE is the core of obedience. Death to self. More of Him, less of me. He was telling me that I needed to die to self more than I had. I needed to give Him more of my food and I knew it. O, why do we fight with Him so?

Phil.3:3 "...for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and PUT NO CONFIDENCE IN THE FLESH"... vs. 10-12 "THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, and the power of His resurrection and the FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection of the dead. Not that I have already obtained it, or have already become perfect, but I PRESS ON in order that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus."

The desert is a place to learn to die completely to self... to be BURIED. To bury the old self and habits...to go through the testing with utter abandonment to Him and utter dependence on Him to see me through. I was so blinded by the desert storms to see the truth of totally dying to self - that He WANTS ME to be buried. ME...I...am still in the way.

Thank You most Holy Lord. More of Thee...more of Thee I pray... You are worthy to be praised!!!
