Spiritual Mapping
Take a clay tablet, and lay it before you, and portray upon it the city of Jerusalem: And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.
Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
In order to pray effectively we must look at the world through God's eyes. The material world is only part of creation.The spiritual and material are part of the same reality. The spiritual world is very real and is all around us. It affects everything we do and everthing we do affects it.
The spirit Wisdom walks through the streets, calling all those who will come to her. Folly also calls out to us seeking to corrupt whoever she can. Besides Wisdom and Folly are vast armies fighting for control of the souls of humanity.
As Chritians, we are part of this spiritual war. We have the task of sharing the Good News with this world and bringing people to Christ. When doing this we will inevitably be in conflict with the spirits which hold them in bondage.
In order to fight this battle we must be aware of three things;
The lay of the land.
The situation of our army.
The situation of the enemy.
