Puppy Update Week 3 Continued

This is a terrible photo, but still cute with Mani at center, Africa squeezed on the right and Berlin at left.

I've finally caught little Sydney on film while playing. The dainty one of the bunch, she still enjoys a good romp. To her left is India. India will be staying with us.

This is how I usually catch Sydney, sleeping. Here, she's lying her head on her mama's neck while mama tries to snoose. You can see the spots on Sydney's nose and mama's pretty eyelashes. Both Espana, our first galgo rescue, and Gorda, the mama, bat their eyelashes when talked nicely to.

Little Norway investigates his mama's nose and breath. She's such a sweetheart, being "adopted" as a favorite of Eden's girlfriend, she loves people attention, and will come to be petted on her back and belly.

Norway, again, her hair is such a light fawn still while many of the others are darkening.

Africa is a sweet little girl, too, and has a nice fawn pattern on her face. I don't know if she'll darken up much, but there is a disntinct darker area around her eyes. Here, she's doing what doggies do, sniff.

Africa again, she's investigating the new ball in the area. Several of the doggies have pushed it around investigating the strange object.

And here's tired mama. Gorda could do without all these puppies, and never should have been pregnant to start. It's such a shame the trouble these galgos find themselves in here in Spain. So much pain could be prevented with a little compassion from the Spanish populace. But, even out of this tragic situation comes joy and happiness in the faces of these little puppies. We've saved their lives, and we hope we did the right things by allowing them a place in this world.

Want to know what you can do to help?

1. Spay and neuter your own animals. Don't breed them for fun or profit; it's just not right. There are too many animals, of EVERY breed, that need a loving home. They're just waiting to be adopted. And, if you're still not sure of what I'm saying, take some time to go visit a couple of shelters in your area. Then, atleast you can make an informed decision.

2. Email the President of Spain and some other topnotch officials, as I did here, and tell them what you think about all this cruelty towards animals.

3. Donate unused or uneeded (clean) medical supplies to Scooby, a galgo refuge in Spain.

4. Volunteer at Scooby. You can do it! Part of your expenses are covered by rescue groups, and Scooby is desperately in need of help. Every year, hundreds of galgos find themselves at Scooby. Problem is, there's very few hands, and very little money.

5. Send some money to Scooby or to the American European Greyhound Alliance. In fact, instead of sending presents to us for Christmas or birthdays, send some money in our name to Scooby. How easy is that?

6. Shop online thru igive.com, choosing a greyhound rescue organization as your charity, and a percentage of your purchase cost will go to help rescue greyhounds (or galgos).

But if you don't remember any of the above but one thing, remember to

Spay and Neuter your pets.
