March 22, 2001
Whereas yesterday brought small tree branches coated with thick frosting, today is beautiful. Blue skies and temperatures probably in the 60s. I couldn't tell if Mother Nature was giving us a warning for clothing everything in decorative tinsel.
Tonight we're camped just past Gooch Gap Shelter. Both days have been about 9 miles. We've been stretching and both feel good. Even the uphills don't feel too bad when put to the tune of old soft-rock Chicago songs or camp gossip.
Really nice folks so far. Feels like a cross country meet, complete with great people and just an edge of competition.
