Two visits to civilization today and just under 15 miles. Nice french toast breakfast complete with Diesel Sludge beverage specially concocted per my detailed instructions:

Rainy, foggy, misty day today. But CT is still lovely. No shortage of towering hemlock stands and smooth rolling terrain. But it's almost over. Tomorrow is MA already. I'm staying at the Riga Lean-to, which has a spectacular view to the East. Hopefully early out of camp tomorrow and a beautiful sunrise after this rainy day.

I've been meaning to hang out more and go slower, but I think that I should do it alone for awhile. Part of what actually got me to slow down is a BBQ coming up. If I go too fast I'll miss it. The other inspiration is Norway. This is not a time for me to take things personally, however, my being here doesn't seem to give her any support so I'll probably move on. She's told me that I shouldn't wait, and this isn't my own hike right now.

Oh, the cafe turned out to be a rehab center for drug and alcohol addicts. And random men have started to stop me on the street to tell me that I have nice legs. Today's approach was less offensive--"I don't mean to be rude or anything, but all that walking's been doing your legs some good." How upset could I get?
