Tonight is my first night on the Long Trail of VT. The Long Trail and the AT are combined for 105 miles. Then the Long Trail continues for 158 miles to Canada. Three states remain. Do I speed up or slow down?
Today was a gorgeous day. Woke up to thin morning light and long shadows at the shelter. I spent several hours at Greylock, the tallest mountain in Mass at 3481 feet. Deuce and I had a really good talk. We were also in the spruce and fir all morning. I loved the sight and the smell.
Spent the afternoon in Williamstown visiting the Clark Art Gallery. There was an impressionistic exhibit on tour there. All the big names were there and I learned a bit about Monet, Renoir, Manet, Sisly, VanGogh, etc. Though I constantly reminded myself to keep my arms down, I overheard more than a few comments about the odiferous cloud surrounding me. It was a lot of fun and made for a full day. Williams College and the town were impossibly quaint and cute.
