I know the feeling. Love can hurt! At the time I was writing Marrying Jezebel, I was forced to confront my own conflicting feelings and fears about love, due to an ongoing personal relationship that wasn't following the storybook plot-line I'd hoped it might.

In the end, I found that writing my book, resolving Jezebel's dilemmas, forced me to accept what I wanted in my own life even if it wasn't as easy to get for myself as it was to write for my characters. It helped me understand how a little faith and support from the right man can change a woman's life, give her the wings to fly. This was a vital lesson, one that's taught me never to be afraid of who I am. Passion is never a curse, but instead, a great gift when offered to the right person.

For that, Jezebel and Rafe, the hero who helps her find the courage to embrace the full potential of love, will always be special to me, even if writing their story did sometimes force me to confront issues I'd have preferred to avoid. Jezebel couldn't run from Rafe, and I couldn't run from her. I hope you'll find these two have the same hold on you!
