What about needles? Do they hurt?

Acupuncture needles are solid, slender (slightly thicker than a human hair), and bear no resemblance to hypodermic syringes.  Acupuncturists use the finest quality, stainless steel, pre-sterilized, disposable needles.

Most insertions are made just beneath the skins' surface, and sensations vary.  Some patients feel a momentary dull ache, a tingling sensation, or a travelling warmth.

After treatment, it is common for people to be relaxed and feel an elevation in their spirit.  Many find relief of their symptoms and increased energy during the days following treatment.
