2. Mary WALDROP was born about 1762 in Granville Co., NC.. She died on 5 Aug 1819 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Notes of David P. Smith: The records indicate that mary's coffin was made in July 1817. Children are listed in the order that the estate records indicate.

She was married to Abner * PITTS [father?] about 1780 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Abner * PITTS [father?] was born about 1760. He died in Apr 1801 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Will dated 27 Dec 1798, Will filed Box 34, Pkg. 70, Estate #811, proved 14 May 1801 Newberry Co., S.C., settlement on 5 Aug 1819 by Chas. Griffin. Legatees: Joshua Pitts, Abner Pitts, grandson (son of Henry), Henry Pitts, Richard Henderson Pitts, Caleb Pitts, Sally [Sary?] Pitts, wife of Seaborn Jones. Will of James Waldrop names Mary Pitts. [Compiler's Note: Mrs. Rourke, informant on the Pitts lineages says she is uncertain of the parents of Abner Pitts. From the connections it is probable that he was a cousin of Henry Pitts who m. Hannah Collier, or possibly a nephew.]

Signed 27 Dec 1795, prov 4 May 1801, recorded 5 Oct. 1802 (he prob died 4 Apr 1801) Legatee: "my beloved wife, Mary..." No others named. [Note: N.B.
