A Bronx Tale is Robert DeNiro first time at directing. The story was written by another one of its stars, Chazz Palminteri. Its about a young boy, Calogeno. Who grows up idolizing the neighborhoods biggest gangster Sonny, played by Palminteri. He helps out Sonny and gets the opportunity to hang out and do things for him. But Calogeno is torn between his fathers lifestyle as a hardworking, honest city bus driver and the more exciting lifestyle of Sonny. Along with directing DeNiro also plays Calogeno's father.
