Bay - A horse with a brown body with black mane, tail, and legs. Palomino - A horse with a golden brown or light yellow coat with white or light mane and tail. Chestnut - A reddish brown horse with a lighter or darker mane and tail color. Sorrel - Like a chestnut but with a yellow tint. Buckskin - A horse with a yellow, tan, or gold body with black mane, tail, and legs. Dun - A horse with a yellow coat (softer then a buckskin) with black mane and tail. Some dun's may have a black line down the middle of his/her back that is called a dorsal stripe. Black - A horse with a black coat and no white markings. Gray - A horse with black skin and white hairs. The horse gets lighter with years. If a horse looks white but has gray legs, muzzle, mane and tail then the horse is a gray not white. Albino - A white horse with red eyes. Perlinos - A white horse with blue eyes. Red or Strawberry Roan - A mixture of red and white hairs.
