On September 24th, 2002, CRADLE OF FILTH release their first live album "Live Bait For The Dead" Beside the number of CRADLE’s classics performed live, 2CD set will also include video, screen-saver, a few new mixes and a classic cover of Twisted Sister's "The Fire Still Burns". Here’s some small, but pleasant surprises: COMPANY OF SNAKES finally put out the long awaited album. The band consists of former WHITESNAKE members: guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, bassist Neil Murray along with drummer John Lingwood and vocalist Stefan Berggren. The first studio CD "Burst the Bubble" features the classic British Hard Rock. Just exactly what we need right now. The album is out now on SPV Records. And another release by SPV. On 22nd July they released the 2CD compilation of the Metal Ballads, entitled…. "Hearts Of Steel" (how extremely original!!!). The album includes Stratovarius, Edguy, Rage, HammerFall, Rhapsody, Axel Rudi Pell, Iced Earth, Doro, Grave Digger and many other tracks. All tracks are taken from the albums of the bands. No previously unreleased tracks, some of them are also pretty old. Can’t imagine, who might want to buy this??   And one more for the road: American scientists found an asteroid which
is on a collision course with Earth and about to hit us in February 2019.
The thing is about 2 kilometres in diameter and if it will hit our little
blue planet, it will cause a global disaster, changes in climate and god
knows what else. HOUSE OF NOIZZ is totally on board of this party; we all
are looking forward to the mass destruction of the unworthy humans and
animals and support it just from the purpose of resistance!
16.07.2002. Although we pretty much hate the commercial stations and never participated in their actions, NOBODY CAN IGNORE THIS ONE!!! By now House Of Noizz is here, but as soon as we sort out all technical problems, we'll let you know. Meanwhile, enjoy: HELLOWEEN finally decided on the new guitarist. Sascha Gerstner of FREEDOM CALL is recruited as a replacement to Roland Grapow. HELLOWEEN are in Hamburg right now, rehearsing the material for the upcoming release, which suppose to hit the shelves in early 2003. 13.06.2002. Dino Cazares (FEAR FACTORY) declined the offer to join Limp Bizkit. As he stated, such move would be a "creativity suicide". Way to go, Dino!! OK, the following information is taken from the EDGUY's official website (www.edguy.nu). HOUSE OF NOIZZ is not responsible for mistakes. The thing is following: Looks like Tobi Sammet is not satisfied with only one trip to Australia this year. EDGUY will be back TWO more times this year: on 29th June 2002 the band destroys Derrame Rock Open Air in Melbourne and on 27th July 2002 - Ballarat (westwards from Melbourne). In other related news, the release date for AVANTASIA part II is finally confirmed. The final chapter of this Rock Opera will appear in stores on August 26th. Looks like the whole release of "The Neonai" - the new album of Swedish LAKE OF TEARS - is just a big joke. The release date is moved again. Right now it's set for July 22, 2002, almost a year and a half later than it was originally planned. Wonder if it's a last delay... ? Douglas Colvin - aka Dee Dee Ramone, original bass player for punk pioneers the Ramones - was found dead on Wednesday. The coroner's office reported that the cause of death might have been an overdose. Tragic... Katla, the original vocalist of our beloved FINNTROLL is leaving the band. His vocal cords tumour is back and the surgery is impossible without harming Katla’s voice permanently. The future fate of the band is uncertain. 29.05.2002.  Former SAVATAGE frontman Zak Stevens signed the deal with AFM Records on
May 28.
His new band CIRCLEIICIRCLE expect to enter the studio in July to begin recording their debut album for a January 2003 release. The band will feature another member of SAVATAGE, guitarist Chris Caffery, who also helped Stevens with songwriting for the upcoming CD. If all goes well, Chris may also tour with CIRCLEIICIRCLE following the album's release. Such a beautiful fella... The founders of German Thrash, KREATOR are working on their forthcoming live CD. The album will be called "Live Kreation (Revisioned Glory)" and features 26 tracks throughout more than 15 years of the band's history. NEVERMORE are expected to start work on a new album, entitled "Enemies Of Reality" later this year with producer Andy Sneap. The band will also cover "Ride The Lightning" on an upcoming Metallica tribute album, which will appear later this year on Nuclear Blast. 26.05.2002. Swedish Black Metal act number one, NAGLFAR, is back! According to the bass player Wrath Olivius the band are now finishes their new full-length album "Sheol". With this decision, the long lasting speculation about the supposed change can now finally be put to rest - Gamma Ray's current line-up is not undergoing any changes. SATYRICON are preparing to celebrate their 10 years anniversary with the release of the compilation album "Ten Horns - Ten Diadems". The release date is set for June 11th, and the new album, "Volcano" will follow later this year through EMI Records. Another proof that rich people can do whatever they want: seems like IRON MAIDEN’s Bruce Dickinson is no longer satisfied with flying his little Cesna. Now he entered 737 commercial flight training!!! Wonder if one day we will have Captain Bruce Dickinson on one of the commercial airlines… Now, take a look at this. Hietala is fired and the new guy's name is Lauri Porra. He will join the
band for their tours this year, but no official word yet if he will become a
permanent replacement for Marco.
Meanwhile Mr. Hietala decided to concentrate on his other band, NIGHTWISH. The problem is - the singer Tarja is leaving NIGHTWISH and the band hangs by the thread, so no one knows what was the reason for him to spoil the relationships with perfectly well SINERGY. There you can also find a very angry message from Alexi Laiho, which almost totally consists of swearing words. Really good. 09.05.2002. Some good news for us: Right now we're negotiating about an interview with Bret Michaels of Los Angeles Glam legend POISON. So far we can't give you an exact date, but hope some time soon! Also a HUGE "Thank You!" goes to Laurie Gorman and the rest of the POISON camp for sending in the brand new single "Squeeze Box" (and a great pic which will go on Max's wall!). Can't wait for the album to come out! :) 06.05.2002. The closer it gets to the release date of MANOWAR’s new album, the more interesting it becomes. Right now we’re looking at a number of different releases that will be available from Nuclear Blast Records. Besides the usual edition, “Warriors Of The World” will also come in special digipak edition and a limited vinyl version. Nuclear Blast will also release the box set with digipak CD, poster booklet, MANOWAR 100% True Metal Stamp, ink pad and MANOWAR number plate. Wonder how much would it cost? 02.05.2002. 
The release date of "The Neonai", the long awaited new album of LAKE OF TEARS is pushed back again. Instead of getting the new CD in the end of April, all we got is a promise to release it in June. This time Daniel Brennare (vocals, guitar, all music/lyrics) is joined by Magnus Sahlgren (guitars) and Jennie Tebler (vocals), who will appear on several tracks. Most of you might remember Jannie by the vocal part on "Lady Rosenred" from LAKE OF TEARS' album "A Crimson Cosmos" (1997). Looking forward again Ex-MEGADETH guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN is currently working on a new instrumental guitar album with the drummer Deen Castronovo. No release date, no title yet. The new album of DARK TRANQUILLITY, "Damage Done" is set for a late summer/early autumn release. The final track list for "Damage Done" is following: "Final Resistance," "Hours Passed In Exile," "Monochromatic Stains," "Single Part Of Two," "The Treason Wall," "Format C: For Cortex," "Damage Done," "Cathode Ray Sunshine," "The Enemy," "White Noise/Black Silence," "Ex Nihilo." Seems like all the ancient Heavy Metal heroes suddenly decided to re-unite these days. Another Thrash Metal legend - CELTIC FROST – is about to rise from the ashes. Tom Gabriel Fischer (voice, guitars, keyboards), Martin Eric Ain (bass and vocals) and Reed St.Mark (drums, percussion, and vocals), the classic CELTIC FROST line-up, is in the studio, writing songs for their new album. No release date, nor the album title is announced yet. Looking forward... 26.04.2002.  Breaking news from our good friends SHAMAN!
The band will go to Finnvox Studio on June 17 to record their next album with producer Mika Karmila (STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA, AMORPHIS, CHILDREN OF BODOM, WALTARI, SENTENCED, etc.). The track list and the album title is still unclear, but the release date is set for November 2002. Jonne Jarvela, the singer and the leader of the band, said in a short interview: "I'm not sure how many songs will make it on the album. There are a few long songs and I don't know if all of them will be included on the CD." What can we expect from the new Shaman? "You will be very surprised when you'll hear the new Shaman," Jonne says. "The new musicians are so good that you can't even imagine! I have new band now and this band will stay!" As the Spinefarm Records now is a part of Universal Records, hopefully we can expect to see their CDs all around the world now! 25.04.2002. YNGWIE MALMSTEEN currently works on his new album, "Attack" in Miami. The fastest guitarist in the world promises some mean guitar and vocal parts on the CD, though it's still unclear, who exactly will perform those vocal parts. The album will be ready in August. A couple of release dates: ANGRA will release a mini-CD called "Hunters and Prey" in July. Another Power Metal heroes, SONATA ARCTICA, will release "Songs of Silence - Live in Tokyo" on July 1st in Finland. Meanwhile the Japanese version of this album is already in stores, as we know…  IRON MADEN is about to unleash "Rock In Rio" DVD in the nearest future. Besides the usual concert, DVD will also include a backstage footage, interviews, photo-album with audio comments by Ross Halfin (the long-time MAIDEN photographer) and all the other goods. And, talking about videos, "Hysteria, The DEF LEPPARD Story" is about to be released by Universal Studios. The film is a proper motion picture, presenting the story of the British Rockers from their early day to the monsters of Hard Rock. 23.04.2002. Greetings everybody! EDGUY start their Australian part of "Mandrake-tour" together with VANISHING POINT and DANGEON. The dates are following: May 9 - Sydney, at Bar Broadway May 11 - Melbourne, at The Esplanade (Metal Warriors 2002 Metalfest) May 12 - Melbourne, at The Corner. We suggest you drag your asses over there and check it out! But don’t do it on Thursday - no point in missing your favourite show, right? 18.04.2002. As always, some really funny stuff goes around the godfather of Metal,
OZZY OSBOURNE. According to metal-rules.com, his Metallic Majesty replaced
the bass and drum parts on his first two albums, "Blizzard Of Ozz" and
"Diary Of Madman".
Those parts were originally done by Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake and now are replaced by Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin. Sharon Osbourne, the wife and the manager of Ozzy said that Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake have harassed him and his family for several years. Because of their abusive and unjust behaviour, Ozzy wanted to remove them from these recordings. On the other hand, Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake deny that they have harassed The Madman in any way, but admitted that Ozzy still owes them some cash for their performance on these albums. Seems like a great reunion time: AMORPHIS announced on their website http://www.amorphis.net that drummer Jan Rechberger who played on the first three albums - "Privilege of Evil", "The Karelian Isthmus" and "Tales From the Thousand Lakes" is back. Hey there! The last few days were pretty quiet. Nothing really happens, excluding a letter from our friend Tommy Olsson of Norwegian ELUSIVE. Here's a few extracts from it: "Hello Max, Sorry for not being in touch for a while, how are you? We are allright and hard at work at the moment playing gigs and doing all sorts of promotion. For approx six weeks now we have been getting airplay on the most important radio channel in Norway - Petre, not enough airplay but at least we're on! Kind of weird being stuck in between George Michael and Shakira. :-) As for new stuff their might be a mini CD out in early autumn but nothing is confirmed yet. A new album is scheduled for late 2002/early 2003. So I'll be in touch if more exciting stuff happens All the best Tommy" 10.04.2002. Hailz, brothers and sisters! Just to let you know that due to technical changes on the station, we expect some small, yet unpleasant, surprises on Thursday. of the band, Al Pitrelli is in again!
Jack seems to be very upset with the situation: "They call me up and say I'm fired, just like that. I'm not a drunk or a drug addict. They never complained about the live performances, just the opposite, complimenting me in the press, about how much renewed energy I brought to the show. So at the end of the day, it was just a decision to bring 'their boy' back." On the other side, as long as Pitrelli's last band - MEGADETH - seems to be put down for good, Al suppose to be very happy. Do you reckon, these guys will love each other again? Post your opinion in the Book Of Sin! 06.04.2002.  Bad news: Pekka Kasari, the drummer of AMORPHIS, has left the band. As
it’s officially stated, he leaves the band on good terms to spend time with
is family. However a replacement has been already found, but not announced
yet.
In other AMORPHIS news: the lead singer Pasi Koskinen and his side project SHAPE OF DESPAIR has just released the new album - "Angles of Distress." "Fight" is the title of her new album of DORO. The CD will appear in stores in August 2002. 05.04.2002. Greetings, brothers and sisters! Yes, today we celebrated one year since HOUSE OF NOIZZ went on air for the first time, shaking the country with MANOWAR’s "Metal Warriors"! To draw the line, I have to say that the year was pretty good. We managed to do a few interviews, get in touch with some amazing people who support our Metal Resistance movement and, of course, bring heaps of really cool music to New Zealand. As you all know, in the beginning of 2002 I was also joined by the new member of our trollish party - Justine, who replaced the founding member, Melissa. Right now I would like to use this chance to do what I should’ve been done a long time ago: say "Thank You for everything" to Mel (I wish you all the best in the future, whatever you will be doing!) and officially welcome Stine (Hope our alliance will last as long as the show goes on air! You ROCK!). There are also a few people, who I would like to mention today: Jonne Jarvela (SHAMAN), BalNecroth (the webmaster of FINNTROLL) and Somnium (FINNTROLL), Bernhard Weiss (AXXIS), Graeme English (SKYCLAD), Matze and the rest of PENNY DREADFUL crew, CulCat and, of course, all of you, listeners, who was sticking with us. Whatever happens, you can count on us to bring you the best and the loudest music in the world! EDGUY’s Tobias Sammet and his side-project AVANTASIA prepare to release the second part of their "Metal Opera". Tobi promises some more surprises, like a new character, sung by Magnum's Bob Catley and Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius) playing guitars. Another Heavy Metal veteran - drummer Eric Singer (KISS, BRYAN MAY BAND, ALICE COOPER) - plays on one track. Track list is not given yet, but by now we’re promised ten real songs and some interludes, with the opener, 14 minutes long "Seven Angels". 04.04.2002. 
Dave Mustaine - founder, vocalist and guitarist of Megadeth has just
announced his departure from the band! Suffering from a serious injury that
affected his ability to play guitar, Dave disbanded Megadeth after nearly 20
years of successful career.
Here's an extracts from Dave's message, published on www.metal-rules.com that explains the current situation: "During the first week of January 2002, while Megadeth was on hiatus, in Texas, I suffered an injury that caused severe nerve damage to my left arm and hand. It was diagnosed as Radial Neuropathy - specifically, a "compressed radial nerve." My doctors tell me it will take about a year to make as complete a recovery as I can, and even then, we don't know how complete that is going to be. I am working hard with a great team of doctors and physical therapists daily, and God willing, someday I hope to play guitar again. In the meantime, while I work on rebuilding my arm, I will take this opportunity to reappraise my career and my future. For the time being I have decided to exit Megadeth, and explore other areas of the music business where I might make a contribution without being able to play my instrument." 02.04.2002.

01.04.2002. Viking Metal formation AMON AMARTH is in the middle of writing new material for the upcoming album. The band s new work is set to be recorded in August at Berno Studios, Sweden. The album still has no title but a few songs are already written. And one more thing: Our friends and colleagues, webzine Penny Dreadful turned one year today!!
