Osbourne, Lita Ford and other great bands inspired thousands.

Ozzy Osbourne's "The Ultimate Sin" (1986) or Lita Ford's "Dancing On The
Edge" (1984).
Randy Castillo will be deeply missed not only by his family and friends,
but also by millions of fans all around the world.

Hi there!
Nothing really happens lately, so we just decided to thank you all for
support and add that all your request will be coming soon. Keep sending them
in!
Plus, here's our big hello to all the NZ's Best Metal Shows. As long as
nobody gives us any prizes and titles, we decided to work out our own radio
award, called "Smurgle" (after our News Troll).
After a small evaluation, The Plastic Smurgle went to the HOUSE OF
NOIZZ, as The WORST New Zealand Radio Show EVER! Basically, we don’t have
any other nominations in our ceremony, so we might as well say that HOUSE OF
NOIZZ is the ultimate winner in all categories.
Congratulations to us, beautiful!
13.03.2002.
The one of the oldest and most influential Heavy Metal bands, MOTORHEAD,
doesn’t even think of giving up! The new record “Hammered” is out and the
band is kicking off the North American tour.
The new CD features MOTORHEAD at its best, with tracks like "Shut Your
Mouth", "Walk a Crooked Mile", "Brave New World", "Kill the World" and
"Serial Killer".
"Hammered" was produced by Thom Panunzio and MOTORHEAD.
Seems like even after the nuclear assault, the only things that will remain
are rats, cockroaches and MOTORHEAD.
Well, and, probably, Cher.
11.03.2002.
Spinefarm Records has started the distribution of SHAMAN's new album

There are also a rumours about the break-up of Lake Of Tears. Daniel
Brenarre, the guitarist and the singer of the band, seemed to confirm them,
stating in the interview to metal-realm.com: "We have already broken up".
"The Neonai" will also be the last band's album for Black Mark
Productions. In the same interview Daniel underlined his intention not to
continue his relationship with this recording company: "If I am to continue
doing music I'd like to try out something else".
Would be such a shame if Lake Of Tears will go out of the picture...
07.03.2002.

05.02.2002.
Here's a small story, forwarded to us by Noise Records. It's really weird and I'm not even sure if we should've published it in "Hall of Flame" or "Newz" section, but it's kinda new, so we decided to put it here.
As we all know, Casey Grillo, the drummer of KAMELOT has been out of the band for a while and Alex Halzwarth from RHAPSODY was replacing him on tour. This is what happened to poor old Casey:
"Well, I had problems with my large toes, yes left and right." - The drummer says. - "The toe nails grew into the toes which hurt not only while I was playing drums."
The doctor couldn't schedule an early date for an operation, so brave Mr. Grillo decided to take measures in his own hands. Already sounds chilling.
First he searched the Internet for correct methods for a self-made operation. Then he bought stuff like a scalpel, disinfectant, pads etc..
"I tried to get drunk and numb as fast as I could." - Casey continues. - "Thankfully my hands didn't shake to much! My wife just asked me if I completely lost my mind, but was kind enough to bring me another bottle. When I went to the doc afterwards, he was very surprised. He said that I did a very good job and he couldn't have done it any better. This old flatterer..., hahaha!"
Do you think, Casey should try himself in medicine?Visit the band on www.kamelot.com
04.02.2002. As you can see, even between non-stop drinking and partying in these sunny days, we still manage to find time and do something useful. Interview with SKYCLAD's Graeme English has been added into the Dark Scrolls section of this site.
04.02.2002. The following message was published on the Moshking.com:
"It is with great sadness that I have to report that Paul Baloff, the original and current singer of the legendary Bay Area Thrash Band EXODUS, has passed away after suffering a massive stroke. Steve Souza, who came after Paul Baloff to record with EXODUS between 1987 - 1992, will return to EXODUS to help the band complete current tour commitments. More details coming soon_"
OK, what is it? First Chuck from DEATH, now Paul Baloff; Chuck Billy from TESTAMENT is diagnosed with cancer, FINNTROLL's Katla has that vocal cords tumour... What the hell is going on?
03.02.2002. OK, are we cool or what? For three days in a row House Of Noizz keeps you updated with the freshest news! Which is a good sign! And we have more news for you: According to our new best friends SKYCLAD (and their bass-player Graeme "Bean" English in particular), the new CD "No Daylight No Heeltaps" is almost finished. The band now is on the final stage of mixing the bonus disk for the limited edition. "We have some of the art work ready now - Graeme says, -but we are just finalising the finished look at the moment . We are hoping to get it up for sale on the web site in February probably towards the end , then it should be in the shops in March or April." Also the work on the next CD with all original tracks has started and SKYCLAD plan to record this in June/July this year for an autumn release. Lovely, ay?
02.02.2002. Beto Vasquez's Infinity, a medieval rock opera, will be released in Germany in March 2002.
The line-up for this project includes Candice Night (BLACKMORE'S NIGHT), Tarja Turunen (NIGHTWISH), Sabine Edelsbacher (EDENBRIDGE), Jorg Michael (STRATOVARIUS), Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY) and other famous metalheads.Everybody tremble!
01.02.2002. According to Helloween's official website, the band's Best-Of record will be called "Treasure Chest". All of the songs have been remixed and remastered to modern standards. Unfortunately, the CD won't include any unreleased or rare material, so the old "die-hard" fans could be interested only in the nice packageing. There's still no release date for this CD, but here's the track list: CD 1 1. Mr. Torture 2. I Can 3. Power 4. Where The Rain Grows 5. Eagle Fly Free 6. Future World 7. Metal Invaders 8. Murderer 9. Starlight 10. How Many Tears 11. Ride The Sky 12. A Little Time 13. A Tale That Wasn't Right 14. I Want Out
CD 2 1. Keeper of The Seven Keys 2. Dr. Stein 3. The Chance 4. Windmill 5. Sole Survivor 6. Perfect Gentleman 7. In The Middle of a Heartbeat 8. Kings Will Be Kings 9. Time Of The Oath 10. Forever & One 11. Midnight Sun 12. Mr. Ego 13. Immortal 14. Mirror Mirror
Meanwhile, there's still no news about the guitarist replacement, bus as soon as the fifth band member will be announced - we'll inform you.
January 2002 31.01.2002. SONATA ARCTICA is currently at Tico-Tico studios in Finland, recording two new songs, "Dream Thieves" and "The Gun", for an upcoming single. Recordings for the band_s next studio album starts in September 2002, so we can expect the new album to come out before the summer of 2003. Still a long way off.
And a couple of release date for you:IMMORTAL will release their new album "Sons of Northern Darkness" on March 5th and just two weeks later, on March 22nd, HYPOCRISY will put out the new CD - "Catch 22". Everybody should tremble!
30.01.2001. An official letter from Katla, the vocalist of our friends FINNTROLL, has been published on band's official website: "Bad news! Due to a tumor in my vocal cords I was not able to sing at all during the autumn. I had a surgery in december but now the tumor has started to revive. Because of this I will have to take a break from all my singing duties in Finntroll. I suspect to be revived and cured in time for the summer festivals (though no promises can be made_). The last gig for the spring for me will be in Tampere, Finland on the 26th of January. I will be momentarily replaced by Tommy …berg (Bloodshed) and on some gigs (for example Moscow) by Tapio Vilska (Sethian, ex-Darkwoods my Betrothed, ex-Nattvindens Gr¥t, ex-Wizzard). I hope these guys will (_and trust me they will!) troll your asses off! I am sincerely sorry that it had to come to this and I shall overcome. Inquiries can be made to my personal e-mail: herra_sysi@hotmail.com Keep trollin_ Katla" I suggest we all write to this guy and wish him to get well soon! Support FINNTROLL!
28.01.2002. Hail, brothers and sisters! Sorry for a long absence. House Of Noizz just got in touch with another NZ Metal Show, that promotes true Heavy Metal - Nightfall!! Check these guys on their official website http://www.nightfall.orcon.net.nz or look for their banner in Brothers In Arms section! Be back with more news!
17.01.2002. Another proof that Martin Walkyier_s departure from SKYCLAD wasn_t a really smart move. Right now it looks like his new band RETURN TO THE SABBAT is falling to pieces. The departure of the guitarist Simon Jones was just announced, so it_s unclear, who_s actually left in the band besides Martin and the bass player Frazer Craske?
Finnish Grotesque/Black Metal band IMPALED NAZARENE has finally released their new album "Absence Of War Does Not Mean Peace". The CD is on sale in Real Groovy as well as the album of their colleagues DARKTHRONE and their latest opus "Plague Wielder".
And, finally, RAGE have come up with the name for their new album. "Unity", the new work of German Power Metallers will come out in May 2002.
09.01.2002. As most of you probably already noticed, sometimes we play tracks from the albums that are not released yet! It_s our credo - to play rare stuff. Some of you might heard a few tracks from ARCH ENEMY's new album "Wages Of Sin" in our show. Now it_s officially announced that the album is scheduled to be released in USA in mid-March through Century Media. This version of the album will come out as a 2CD set featuring the CDROM video for 'Ravenous' and eight bonus tracks that have appeared on all of Arch Enemy's Japanese releases, including the JUDAS PRIEST cover "Starbreaker".
Comes out that the first album of DEMONS & WIZARDS, a side project of Hansi Kursch (BLIND GUARDIAN) and Jon Schaffer (ICED EARTH), is not a one-time thing. According to the official sources, Schaffer now works on the new material for the follower of the self-titled DEMONS & WIZARDS album. No more details available so far.
08.01.2002. Good news for all of us! House Of Noizz is starting the new compaign to support the comeback of Power Metal legend BLIND GUARDIAN.For the first time on New Zealand radio we will present the band's BRAND NEW single "And Then There Was Silence", including 15-minute-long self-titled epic! Stay tuned!
07.01.2002. Hail, Brothers and Sisters! Finally the holidays are over (who can say it's not a dipressing season?)! Time to get on our feet again. Italian RHAPSODY seem to push back the release of the new album. The next opus with the working title "The Great Battle" will be unleashed only somewhere in March - April 2002. According to the vocalist Fabio Lione, the reason for this is the success of the band's latest work - mini album "Rain Of A Thousand Flames". The recording company, Limb Records, wants to sell as many copies as possible before releasing the full-lenght album. More news to come!
